He's a solid role player. His strength (obviously) is that he's got a very good mid range jump shot. There are a few other things that he's sufficient at and then everything else he's probably a little below average. I don't think he'll be a starter on a winning team, unless there is a beast of a PF next to him, but he's a good bench player that can occasionally start if needed.

He looked real rusty but caught on eventually and played pretty well. He is, sadly, probably the best real center the franchise has had since... Patrick Ewing's mummy.

He's good for what he is, but probably not starting material on a contending team unless you've got some good size and strength at the four.

Edit: ^ Looks like we have a consensus

I think Krystic would look really good playing next to a guy like Al Jefferson.

Someone who likes to bang down low and has an actual post game. Krystic could space the floor and do what he does well, which is his mid range J.

Interesting though that both these guy are in the process of recovering from an blown out ACL.

I think there is still a small chance Krystic might be able to get a little more explosion back since these types of injuries can take more than a year at times to make a full recovery or at least to how far it is going to heal to 100%.

I would love to see Livvy get a little explosiveness back too.

Edit:

But with Green and Durant he isn't the perfect C in the middle. I think the guy is pretty good and would be great if there was a guy like a Chandler he could share minutes with at the C. Or Brendan Haywood who Slick has brought up recently. Haywood might been available with JaVale McGee showing he can be pretty effective.

I remember back in the day George Karl would start Perkins mostly. But on some nights when he wanted a little more muscle he'd give Michael Cage a start.

I wouldn't care who started I would just want it to be effective.

The funny thing is that he looked so promising in Jersey. Then he got injured and a million more skilled offensive bigs entered the league (Bosh, Beasely, Aldridge, Charlie V, Bargnani, Amar'e, and the list goes on...).

He would have been a solid compliment to Okafor or Chandler, but you're never going to be thrilled with him as a starter. Especially if you don't have a physical banger to play him with. Solid 3rd big though.

There was some rust last year... I also think injuries have legitimately lowered his ceiling... Slick_watts post is basically spot on.

Right now Nenad works best as a spacer.

I don't think that he would be any better starting next to Lebron and Shaq than Ilgausksus would. He has similar strengths and weaknesses to Z, so I just don't see it happening. If that C/PF combo played against a quick/agile big like Bosh or Amare, they would be in a world of trouble while not specifically out-doing them on the other end of the court.

I'd say he's a solid bench player, but not a starter.
Then again, how many team's starting centers have the same thing said about them?

Before he got injured in Jersey, he was a potential allstar. He's a starter by all means.
