Knee jerk to Laker game

Move Ibaka and White up in the rotation.
White looks good offensively.
Ibaka gets blocks and rebounds....that's all we really need from our center. Give him 15-18 mins every game a game and
Give White 15 - demote Thomas and Krystic! Or better yet trade them.
Krystic has been terrible defensively, actually worse than that.

He's useless on offense when he isn't hitting that 15-20 foot jumper either.
Etan goes up as if he's carrying dumbbells around his ankles.
Westbrook/Ollie
Sefolosha/Harden
Durant/Green
Green/White
Ibaka/Collison

Yeah and both White and Ibaka have shown the ability to hit 12-15 footers!
I like that
What have we got to lose? mean this year is kind of if we make the playoffs YAY, and if not...oh well, we weren't expecting it anyway.
Give Ibaka and White some real minutes and ship off Krystic and/or Thomas and a few picks for a decent backup PG

The problem is Jeff Green.
This proposal shall really stunt his development, IMO. And right now, your guys best bet could be building up Jeff Green's value then trade him for a position that you guys need.

in what way do you think it will stunt his growth?

Yeah Ibaka needs to see more time. He was the only reason I watched most of the game. Everyone else gave a half ass effort.

Well, first it's no secret that Ibaka is better at the 4 position than Green. Because Ibaka is a natural four. Sooner or later, Green would be brought off the bench. And should really see a dip in his minutes once Ibaka and White's minutes goes up.
PG-Westbrook SG-Thabo SF-KD PF-Ibaka C-Thomas or Kristic (you need a real C)
Green with less minutes and slower improvement shall mean that you guys would not maximize his talent nor his trade value, if ever you guys opts to trade him in the future. Which I really suspect, since I can't see how KD and Jeff Green can play together with both of them playing the same position.

Yes Ibaka does some things better than Green, but he offers very little offensively. There is no reason to start him at all this season. I just want to see him play more minutes at the expense of Krystic and Thomas - i.e at Center not PF
Basically we have ZERO centers on this team, and since Ibaka offers better defense on the bigger guys (Kaman, Bynum etc) then Our starter and second stringer does we might as well use him.
Basically we all agreed around here (in the offseason) that we need a blocker and a rebounder next to Green to make him and KD more effective....well Ibaka offers those things. He might only be 6'10, but our 7 footer cant' block or rebound for ****!
Green's development would not be in question.

Starting Ibaka? Come on now.
That's not knee-jerk, it as full body spasm.

Thomas and Krstic have both contributed a lot this season and will continue to do so. That being said though Ibaka is a fun player to watch and hopefully can see some more floor time. I had high hopes for him reading all the stuff about him this summer but he needs to grow into his playing time along the lines of what they are doing with Harden.
As for slowing Green's development, Green is already pretty developed and will more or less take care of himself. It may be true that Green is more of a natural small forward, but labels are not as important as simply what is a guy contributing, in the end all you really need are 5 players what you call them is not important. I'll take Green starting on my team regardless of what you call him any day.
If the team sticks to their vision of leaving cap space to retain guys and build that kind of continuity where guys have been with each other for years I definitly think two years down the road a line up something like this is reasonable:
Westbrook/ ?
Harden/Sefalosha
Durant/ ?
Green/ ?
Ibaka/ ?
If we can fill in those question marks with some quality role players and character guys at the right price tags which will be harder then it sounds the Thunder will be a team that makes a lot of noise in the league.

I wasn't say to start him, but instead of making him the second last guy off the bench (seeems like he is in front of White) move him to First big off the bench, whether its at PF or C doesn't matter. So long as Krystic and thomas see less mins.

D.J White has to get some minutes, he'll hit the mid range shot all day, he rebounds, can blocks some shots too. I'd even try him against some centers to see how he does.

You didn't.

12-14 minutes sounds good, if he can handle it. Still, he's not a good basketball player yet. Krstic and Nick
understand the game.
