Let's talk about KD.

Post#1 » by dream_catcher_9 » Mon Nov 30, 2009 3:59 am

Even though the game tonight was pretty pitiful, Durant had another solid game on offense. After a slow start to being the year on offense Durant has not only played more efficiently, but he is sharing the ball a lot more and is much more unselfish. That to go along with his greatly improved Defense, and improving leadership skills, and we have a bona fide Star!

The kid is going to be a special player in this league. I'm talking top 3 in the next few years I have a hunch. I can;'t being to describe where this team would be right now without Durant. I have hated on Durant in the past for his lousy defense and selfish play but he is shutting me up, and I couldn't be happier....

He's improved on two things this year that have made a huge impact.

First is drawing fouls. His DrawF% is 15.8%. This is a superstar-esque figure in Dwyane Wade's neighborhood. The fact that he is also shooting free throws above 85% means he's getting a lot of easy points while also putting the opposing team(s) in foul trouble. This IMO was the main thing holding Kevin Durant back from being a 30ppg scorer last season. If his three pointers were falling like they were last year he would be very close to 30ppg right now, probably around 29ppg or so.

The second is obviously team defense. I said it all off season that this is where KD will make his next big step, not as a playmaker but as a team defender. He's really starting to get it and has been fairly consistent, especially recently, about putting the work in on that side.

Agreed on everyting here.
It's a shame his 3pt shoot is not falling, he would be so much better than he already is.
And yeah, his D has been in general good.
I'm now waiting for individual D and playmaking. :D

Kevin Durant is the 3rd best SF in the league, behind Lebron and Carmello, he can easily be put at number 2 on alot of peoples list.Damn... I wish he was a Knick.lmao.
