Matchup

After a tough OT loss we go to Chicago and face another good home team that's been on fire lately. Derrick Rose v. Russell Westbrook will be the balleyhooed matchup, but Luol Deng defending Kevin Durant will be the important one.

Perhaps even more important are the frontcourt matchups. Joakhim Noah, Taj Gibson, and Tyrus Thomas are all athletic bigs who rebound the ball. We got beat in Milwaukee mostly due to the fact that we could not secure a defensive rebound.. you do the math.

I think the Bull take this one the way they have been playing unless we get some offense from someone else.. Jeff Green, James Harden, where are you guys?

Some Numbers

After the miserable Milwaukee game our offensive is ranked 19th. Defense is still 8th.

Jeff Green's season has been horrible. I will go into more detail in the Jeff Green thread but his PER is now below 14.0, he's slipping and slipping.

A Question

Start a new win streak?

Thanks again for the game thread Slick.

Thunder take this one after being brought back to earth. Deng cannot stop KD any better than That prince fellow in Milwaulkee. KD's Streak extends to 7 games.

krstic not playing d and putting up contested jumpshots... and getting absolutely schooled by noah, and it's only been 6 minutes.

get him outta there

**** me I am sick of the lack of rebounding.

I love KD, but he erally needs to work on strength and ball security. Waaay too many turniovers

the last 3 minutes was a fair improvement on d. moving thabo onto rose for a couple of plays looked good.
we did a good job of making them shoot jumpers, and westbrook was getting to the rack

we took the lead...krstic came on, we're down by 6.

i've never been a huge krstic hater but this is just ridiculous. He doesn't try on d, or to rebound.
maynors hitting those open 3's which is awesome to see. This is the first real look i've had at him and he looks really composed which is good.

must noah scream everytime he touches it?

getting killed on the boards again.

have we ever really properly tried durant at the 4, and green at the 3?

This **** is unbearable. We're MAULING you under the basket, and your bigs are abusing our guards when they're driving...17 free throws total for both sides. These refs are horrific.

our bigs can't jump...it's hard for them to give away fouls

durant is on 9-13, hasn't missed about 5 in a row and has been on the court for 4 minutes without a touch as westbrook goes one on one from 18 points up to now a 10 point lead. That is so undisciplined. Scoring's going to his head or something, put in Maynor and close this out.

Very interesting game.. we're getting killed on the boards as usual, we're turning the ball over too much as usual, but our eFG% is through the roof with all the perimeter players hitting shots and they're shooting very poorly.

Very strange game.. J. Green with only 14 minutes. Three guard lineups. I don't think we win a game like this on a normal day since we're shooting the lights out. It's interesting that Brooks is forced to go small because our PF and C aren't capable of rebounding and don't score on the other end. Intersting adjustment.

We really need that front court upgrade..

a win is a win, but getting smashed on the boards is really getting me frustrated.

Definitely nice to win, but this game and the Bucks game definitely underscore the need for a legitimate front court player.

Nawlins did us a favor by beating Utah. We are now a game clear of them in the standings.

Totally weird game, but gotta be pretty happy about stealing that one. Gave up 25 offensive rebounds. When you're shooting the lights out like that can cover up a lot of problems.
I haven't read anything about Green being injured, so assume he was benched due to being totally overmatched.
