I was wondering what you all think about this. What player or combination of players from past/present would you use to describe Durant's game? I remember hearing him described once as a combination of Tracy McGrady and Dirk Nowitzki. Thoughts?

i've heard George Gervin.

Dirk might be the closeest though I guess, because the other 2 are as good a rebounding. And KD is about the most efficient player at his position who scorees nearly 30 a game.

I actually think Chris Bosh is the closest. Durant of course has range much further out, and Bosh is more explosive of an athlete. But physically, and the way they score from 20 feet in they have a lot of similarities.

I disagree on the famous Tmac and DIrk comparisons! Tmac was a ball dominant scorer and dirk uses his body/height to score. Durant scores most of his points on off ball movement. His game is really old school with nowadays athleticism and length. To be fair I will try my best to compare him to a present day player. Hmmmm...i would have to go with Ray Allen mixed with Shawn Marion (in their prime of course).

A hybrid of Larry Bird and Dominique Wilkins. It's hard to say because he really is his own player, as most great players are. For instance Kobe gets MJ comparisons a lot, but there games are different, everything from their movement, to fav moves etc. I like the Kevin Durant to George Gervin comparison to some degree too.

kinda got to agree with loot... They might be similar in like level of impact on the game (both being around top 5-10 players), but I would almost go so far as to say that some of what were Hill's biggest strengths (good D, ball handling, passing) and some of Durant's biggest strengths (range, scoring by running off of screens) are potentially even the weakest parts of the others' game. Both very good players though :)

I'd maybe say Dirk Nowitski and Glen Big Dog Robinson.
