Westbrook deserved All Star

Im not a huge fan of Westbrook. Scratch that, im not a huge fan of Westbrook playing point guard, BUT he is a darn good overall player!!!! Since Kobe is going to miss the ASG, Westbrook is the clear cut choice IMO! This choice on Kidd replacing Kobe ticks me off. There is no way in this current season that Kidd has outplayed Westbrook. So now i am going to look at the brighter side, i hope this "snub" only improves Westbrook!

Westbrook is too inconsistent. I have a love hate thing with Russ. Some games I think he is going to be Wade 2.0 and sometimes I think he is a cock.

But I don't think he deserved to get in.

I think he has meant more to OKC than Kidd has meant to Dallas. Even with KD being the freak he is.

I'm OK with Kidd getting in, I'd be pissed if Brooks got in over Russ though.

Why? Brooks is the first option on a winning team in the West and he is dramatically more efficient than Westbrook as a scorer. Westbrook is a better defender, rebounder and playmaker but lets be honest the AllStar game is all about scoring.

The only argument you can make is that Westbrook's team is better. Well.... that's why Kevin Durant is in the all star game.

Lets look at their scoring efficiency:
Brooks TS% is at 54.6%
Westbrook's TS% is at 48.2%

Russ is better than Brooks at everything except scoring efficiency and his team is better. I'm not sure what else to say about it.

Kidd has been great. Shooting the three ball, getting steals, rebounds, even blocks. Not to mention the double figure assists. I'm glad that he's in.

You're kidding right? Is that why Rondo and Horford made the All-Star team? Gerald Wallace doesn't exactly fill it up either.

Bottom line is Westbrook is having over all a much better year than Brooks. There are two sides of the floor ya know?

Aaron Brook's backup Kyle Lowry is a better defender, playmaker, rebounder than Brooks. Like Westbrook, Lowry does everything better than Brooks except scoring. Do you think he deserve to make the allstar game more than Brooks too?

Westbrook is an extremely inefficient scorer.(48.2% TS%) He's the 2nd/3rd option on a winning team.
Aaron Brooks ,on the other hand, is a very efficient scorer.(54.6% TS%) He's the first option on a winning team. Shouldn't that be enough reason for Brooks to be considered over Westbrook.

You may think Westbrook is an overall better player. That's fine. But why would you be pissed if Brooks had gotten the nod over Westbrook?

Besides generally being considered as a great playmaker, Rondo is also an incredibly efficient scorer. His true shooting% is at 55%. Ditto Wallace and Horford.

I don't believe anybody with a TS% as bad as Westbrook has ever made the allstar game.

Lowry is a backup playing 24 minutes a game, don't be ridiculous.

Sure, considered. But you said it yourself, that's all that Brooks is better than Westbrook at. Russ is better at everything else, especially the other half of the floor (OKC is number one in opponent backcourt FG%). Also, I wouldn't call the ninth seed at the All Star break a 'winning team', whatever the expectations were.

You may think Westbrook is an overall better player. That's fine. But why would you be pissed if Brooks had gotten the nod over Westbrook?

Uhh.. because he's better on a better team? What's so difficult about that?

I don't believe anybody with a TS% as bad as Westbrook has ever made the allstar game.

Ben Wallace 2003, 2004, 2005. Jason Kidd 1996, 2001, 2003. Jermaine O'neal 2003. Mookie Blaylock 1994. Dennis Johnson 1979. Etc. Etc.

And i repeat. That's why Kevin Durant is in the Allstar game.

If you don't think the best player on a 27-24 team deserves to be an allstar then the 2nd or 3rd best player on a 30-21 team definitely doesn't deserve a spot either. The Thunders are only 3 games ahead of the Rockets....
