Before the NBA decided a new name for OKC new team, my most preferred name was the OKC Whiplash.

What do you guys think, do you guys like your new name?

I also would love it if you guys change your jersey to something like Yellow and Green (like a supersonic 2.0 version).

Whiplash, I actually don't know if it an actual word or not, but it sound powerful. Most of us NBA fans thought thunders were too generic. I have to admit it fit in fine now with the NBA after all of us have gotten use to it, but wouldn't a name like Whiplash sound so much better? Maybe it not really an NBA team name, more like an NHL team name though however.

Yup now that i think of it, that is definitely a NHL name. Cool name though right?

I believe those colors had to be left in Seattle

"thunders" is not a correct way to pronounce the team's nickname OKC Thunder no "s" at the end it is already plural

I think just like all names/jerseys/mascots, once it's been around for a bit, people just get used to it and it is a non-factor. The odds of the name changing at this point are amazingly low... it happens VERY rarely, and would be even more unusual for such a new team/name.

I could definitely see the jerseys/logo (not necessarily the colors though) changing in the next year or two. There was a lot of fuss initially about how bad both were. I think they were a little rushed out of the gate and they could be revisited and really improved upon.

When there was the voting about the new team name I believe the Barons were the closest to make the cut. Other names that were a possibility according to news reports were the Energy, Bison, Marshalls, and Wind.

Plus, I read somewhere the suggestion Mustangs.

Barons sound horrible.

Someone once proposed OKC Twisters. I thought that was funny.

I can't say that the word originality really sums up those ideas... but I actually did kind of like the name Oklahoma City Bandits, personally

I like it as it is. I just hate the way Brian Davis pronounces the team name, well I hate Brian Davis in general.
