Durant's 25+ pts streak

So Durant's streak is at 26 games right now.
Iverson had a 27 game treak back in 2000-2001, right?
Does any of you guys know what the all-time list looks like? Who is in first place, with how many games and where does the 26 games rank?

Modern record, i.e. post merger.

I think I saw in some article that Wilt had like 125 straight....

Honestly unless he gets hurt early in a game, he could chase Wilts record. He truly does tend to have 25 early in the 4th.
It's not like the kid is going to forget to score the ball. And he obviously has the green light.

there is no way he would get anywhere near wilt's. MJ only got to 40. If Durant passes MJ then we should all be damn happy

I don't think he breaks Jordan's record. Our other guys have looked better on offense, against a team like Charlotte or @ San Antonio I can see KD ending up with less than 25. If he has more it'll be on too many shots and might compromise our ability to win. I hope it ends because it's going to become a distraction..

He already has 26 games of 25.
I think he can finish the season with the streak intact. I think the only speed bump he will come up against is th start of next season when he seems to start out a little slow. But if he can make it through November with the streak he should be able to chase Wilt.

Comon, you are not really serious about KD getting or even chasing the 125, are you???
I believe it will stop around 30.
Its not a mirracle that noone since Iverson reached 27 in a row. Not Shaq, not Kobe, not LeBron.
And if its true what you guys say, that after MJ's 40 (back in the late 80's) Iverson is second with his 27 (not counting grandpa Wilt). David Robinson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, etc all have failed to reach such numbers.
Kobe Bryant averaged 35.4 points a game in the 2005-06 season and still couldnt get 27 games in a row scoring at least 25 points.
So, forget about Durant chasing even the 40. His streak will end around 30-35 at best and he will get a stand-up ovation, because thats great accomplishment.

I dunno.
There have been a few games lately where he can't hit a jump shot, but he still has 25+.
With a bit of luck he could go for a long time.

Exactly. Look I'm not saying it is likely but I think it is absolutely possible that he breaks Jordans record and keeps rolling. Once he breaks Jordans record then the only player left is Wilt to chase.
But this is why I think it is "possible" for him to chase Wilt.
Durant gets to the line 9.8 times a game. His ft% is 0.876. So he get's 8.9pts a night pure and free from the line.
So let's just call it 9pts to make it easier. That means he has only 16pts to go during the rest of the game to get his 25pts. That is only two 2pt baskets per quarter for the rest of the 16pts.
I'm not saying it is a given but if anyone is going to break Jordans record and chase Wilt it is going to be Durant.
Sure it could happen today the kid goes 2 of 8 from the line and goes 3 for 17 from the field. That COULD happen. But I think it is more likely that he gets his 25pts.
I'm not sure why Kobe hasn't broke Jordan's streak maybe it's because he breaks his fingers like every other week. Iverson was a gifted scorer but on nights he could get locked up by a guy like Kobe because of his size. LeBron is more than just a scorer. He is also an outstanding playmaker.
Kevin is as pure as a scorer as they come man. That is his knock when it comes to him and the LeBron comparisons. Lebron is a playmaker. Kevin is the better scorer. But that's just it, the kid can score at will.
Sure call me nuts, I have thick skin, but I'm telling you right now Jordans 40 game record is going down.
Then it's just chasing Wilt.

Its really just a fluky streak. The only way he gets it is if he "tries" to get 25 a night. He went 9-28 from the field the other night... the kid is still human. If he is trying too hard to get 25 points and making less than a third of his 28 shots, eventually thats gonna cost us a game.
Its a fun story, but its only 2nd too the playoff race and shouldnt be Durant's or the Thunder's top priority. Hopefully he just goes out there and plays his game and doesn't even pay attention to his point total.

He forced a ton of shots against the Knicks, but he kept the streak alive.

He has forced shots from day one. He is the #1 option it i his job to score.
Show me a game where he hasn't forced a shot or two...or three.

I have an interesting stat for you.
KD has scored below 25 points only 5 times this season.
The Thunder have lost all 5 games!!!
This should be especially interesting for those who say that KD's streak should end, because he is forcing shots andit hurts the team.

Most people would say Lebron 1 and Wade 2 (after Kobes done). But I think it will change......Lebron 1 and Durant 2.
