does presti do the advanced statistics thing?

because they dont like Jeff Green (not at power forward anyways)

he has a +11.7 defensive on court/off court

thats beyond terrible and it wouldnt surprise me if its the worst in the league

he cant effectively guard bigs and is not a good long term solution at PF and his production drops significantly with Durant on the floor because they're both SF's

anyways heres a general jeff green argument/appreciation thread

Last time I checked about a week and a half ago, Jeff Green did have the worst adjusted +/- in the NBA among players averaging 25+ minutes a game..

Jeff's been better lately on offense.. he's effective when he's hitting the three pointer.

Some of the +/- has to do with our rotations. When Kevin Durant leaves the game, often our lineup is Maynor / Harden / Green / Ibaka / Collison. As you'd expect, it's not a very effective lineup, especially on offense.

Anyway, Jeff Green has grown on me a little bit as a player because of his effort and his knack for hitting big shots. I'm willing to at least experiment with him further, provided we get a legitimate center to protect the paint to start next to him. Or Al Jefferson, a guy who will make up for Green's lack of offensive game when his three point shot isn't falling.

Hopefully something happens in the offseason, I don't hate Jeff Green, I hate the Green / Krstic combination..

I like Green as a player and as a person (ive only heard good things about him) but he just cant play the PF position he's a SF through and through

He's doing better and is developing some savvy defensively, but you're correct, he's not a PF.

Part of the problem, his offense, wouldn't be so much of a problem if our starting guards weren't sub 50% TS scorers. Green's career TS is about the same as Antawn Jamison's. So it's not crazy to have a guy like that at PF, it's just not optimal offensively if the rest of your team (save Durant) has trouble scoring reliably.

Defensively and on the boards he does get beat up a lot. He's made up for the defensive part a bit by being pesky, getting steals, making big plays, etc.. not much he can do on the boards.

I agree he's not a PF but Brooks and Presti (and Durant) seem comitted to him.. might be best to find a nice center to put in the middle and see where Green at PF takes us.
