Bummer. James Harden will miss 2-4 weeks with a right hamstring injury, after he tweaked it against the Hornets Wednesday night going to the rim in the second quarter.
The good news for Oklahoma City though is Kyle Weaver is healthy and has been recalled after a very productive stint in Tulsa. Obviously, this is fortuitous timing. Weaver appeared in five games with the 66ers, averaging 12.4 points, 7.2 assists, 5.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks in 42.6 minutes per contest. He’s an admirable replacement for Harden and I’m honestly a little excited to get a look at him.
It’s slightly terrifying that Harden is out. His contributions are pretty underrated. To have a guy come off the bench with the ability to score 10 points in a few minutes is something extremely valuable. Kyle Weaver will do a nice job in his steed, but there’s a reason Harden was the third overall pick last year.
How do 10- day contracts work? Do you you have to wait for the previous one to expire before signing someone else or can you just cut bait now?
I thought Mustafa would have been a nice call up for scoring purposes losing Harden

They could waive Antonio Anderson and sign Mustafa Shakur if they wanted to, but I don't think that will happen. Kyle Weaver is familiar with the system here, we know he can play defense, and while he can't score like Harden or Shakur, the coaching staff is probably more comfortable with him.
This does suck, though. Hopefully Weaver has the stroke because Harden was the guy who keyed our offense with the second unit..

Don't get me wrong I love Weaver but I know what he can and can't do
He is basically Thabo junior
He will provide a little offense but not the same type as Harden

Looks like Ibaka will be the spark plug off the bench on offense. LOVE IT!!!!
Bummer about Harden though.

Kyle Weaver made a very Kyle Weaver play in the first quarter with a block on Korver. He really is an excellent defender. Much like Thabo, he uses his length extremely well to make his opponent think he can’t get off his shot. He’s not comfortable or confident as an offensive player, but he’s got a future. He’s just a heady player.
I guess I'm not alone

Weaver has quicker feet than Thabo, he's probably better suited to guarding the smaller guards. Thabo had trouble staying with Deron Williams when he was on him.
