Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs 03/22/10

Home sweet home. A frustrating road trip thankfully ends, and we have the Spurs a night after they lost an overtime game against the Hawks.
This game is huge. Losing to the Pacers really hurt our chances at solidifying the sixth seed, a loss to the Spurs here, IMO, would mean the fight for the 6th seed is about even..
Hopefully our guys come out with some intensity on defense. Our defense has been very erratic since the All Star break, teams have figured out the best way of cracking it.

I love this team, I love how these guys are rooting for each other. Ibaka lost the ball when going up for a dunk, got the ball back, posted up and the bench was encouraging him to go baseline. He did and earned two free throws and when he returned to the bench when the timeout was called all the guys were high fiving him and telling him he's doing great.

Durant is unbelievable. He is the only one with anything going tonight and they still cant stop the guy. But we need someone else to play well if we want to win this game. Unfortunately our other two players are on the bench with foul trouble. I hope they can get back in rhythm in the 4th coming off the bench.

We need Westbrook and Thabo to come out and make things happen on the defensive end so we can get out in transition. Then our offense will get going a little more. We are in a funk right now. Man that 3 point swing at halftime was huge. Sucks that things like that can happen.

yeah picked up his third and fourth within a minute in the 3rd quarter. Hasnt really had a chance to get in rhythm. Green as well. Its really just been Durant keepin us afloat.

well fought but we continue to struggle to execute in the clutch and hopefully experience will help that
this team really needs the amazing westbrook back
healthy harden would be nice too

Before I go into my rant I'd like to say that Serge Ibaka played brilliant defense in the fourth quarter on Tim Duncan. He was able to do it mostly on an island, with some help hedging over.. If Brooks had gone to this earlier, maybe we win. Great game for Serge.
I'm phsyically ill by that last shot attempt. Scott Brooks has completely lost it. First, he puts Thabo in the game on the last offensive play (and Serge, for that matter, Krstic would be better). Not only that, he makes him the trigger man. So when Durant gets doubled, who's open? Thabo! What does Thabo do? Of course he has to shoot.
I don't know what scenario is worse. That Brooks drew up a play for Thabo to shoot a three from a spot where he's shooting NINTEEN PERCENT on the year or that Brooks was oblivious to the fact that Thabo would be completely ignored by the Spurs defensively, and might get the ball back. Umm.. why not let Green inbound? Or even Maynor? Why choose the worst three point shooter on our team to inbound the ball? Why keep him at all?
I'm starting to worry that maybe our bush league coach doesn't have what it takes to close out games or game plan well. What a horrible ending to the game. Completely inexplicable.

I know there was some speculataion last night about a possible beef with Westbrook and Brook.
Heard Brian Davis say tonight that Westbrook still had a touch of a stomach bug.
Probably had something to due with the limited minutes last night.
I agree, this team needs to be 100% healthy. And that includes the bench guys. Harden is absolutely missed right now. And when the Thunder were without Nick and Serge they got man handeled down low. This team has a lot of young talent but it's not completely developed yet which means this team isn't as deep as it will eventually be.
This is a tough stretch. The Thunder need to step it up if they want to avoid he 7th or 8th seed.

I dont like it. I cant imagine Lebron or Wade not getting the ball/shot. What ever plays brooks has, they are not end of game ones.

If Jeff Green inbounds the ball, then Durant maybe gets a shot because the Spurs might not ignore Green. This is probably the worst coaching decision I've seen all year from Brooks.
