once again China>Taiwan.

No, It's Chinese Taipei.

Woot! Let the games begin!! GO CHINESE TAIPEI!! GO USA!!!

Man don't insult your own country with that name. The Chinese gov't pressured the IOC into recognizing Taiwan as an autonomous province of China.

Taiwan definitely has better looking girls than China. But S.Korea FTMFW

the opening ceremonies were definitely the best yet. Wushu torch lighting FTW, though the crane operator probably got shot after for not keeping the pace.

Yao ming's got max media coverage there.

pretty cool opening ceremony. the torch bearer running around the stadium suspended in mid-air was a bit cheesy but original. This Olympics finally woke up the sleeping dragon. the world better watch out.

I was a little pissed off that they talked about Georgia when the Russian team entered. I don't want to hear about their politics, I want to hear about their team.

I'm going in London to the Olympics in 2012. I'm staying all throughout and so hopefully it will be good or even better. London is much richer than China is, maybe they'll put up some competition and spend more money on it than China did.

London is not that much richer than Beijing/Shanghai, and I doubt the opening ceremony will come close to this one. Besides, the UK real estate market is looking at a potential 40-50% drop from this point on which will put the economy is deep trouble. I doubt the Brits will have much money to spend on the Olympic. If you think the economy in US is ****, expect worse from the UK.

It doesn't matter to me, I just think they will try to put on a good show. I don't care really care about it too much though. I'm just going to be excited to see the events themselves and represent myself as a U.S. fan.

Those who host olympic games, who doesn't try to put on a good show? I am not sure if London will have the luxury of spending at will considering UK economy is going off a cliff. The bright side is US$ may finally appreciate somewhat against sterling pound to make your trip a bit cheaper.

I have little doubt about it. Every Olympics is a good one. Enjoy this one now and wait for the next one.
