The thing I am most impressed with, even more so than the Chinese girls winning the gold, is the composure of the US girls. They looked beyond all that "cheating" and "underage" allegations, and they acknowledged and praised the Chinese for their win.

That to me is the best part of it all.

I agree. I just hope their coach can act like a grown-up. These girls put her and her husband in shame.

Ya everyone wants to cry foul after everything is said and done... its pretty pathetic. They trained hard and they won. Chinese girls may be smaller then American girls, so why wouldnt u select a team with small atheletes in a sport were thats an advantage....

Just to let u know, Phelphs was 15 years old when he competed in the 2000 Sydney games (and came 4th in the 200 Fly), but that was allowed, since he turned 16 during the Olympic year.

Btw, I have got the gold medal and bronze medal game tickets for Male Fencing Sabre on Sunday night. I can not wait to be there since Fencing is my favorite game in Olympic games.

Yeah credit to Ukraine for coming back, but China really should have taken it. When it was 35 to 20 something, the next Chinese girl completely blew that fat lead away and when she was done it was 40-37. Then the next Chinese girl had the score at 44-42, yet she just couldn't close it out. So many chances to win and they couldn't do it.

Great match to watch though, my heart was pounding at the end there. Hope you have fun at the tournament on the weekend.

And he lost to James Blake of all people.....in STRAIGHT SETS!! Stick a fork in Roger, because he is DONE! Looks like Nadal's Wimbledon win really killed him this year and Federer can't win anything anymore. When you start losing to guys like Blake, you know its over.

I wouldn't be surprised of Phelps wins more medals by himself than the entire Canadian Olympic team.

I got that feeling as well. but they are really good.

Seems fine to me. The top scores have not been close enough to be controversial. Every team is making major mistakes -- but the Chinese made less of them than US team.

The only legit gripe I've seen is how slow the scoring is at times, because of the use of video replay and judges consulting with the technical judge on areas of uncertainty.

If team USA had a solid case, you don't think they would've taken it up to IOC, rather than talking to the media?

The Chinese passport's trump the legal age that the kids parents entered for them in provincial tournaments, but you'd have to be a complete absolute moron to believe that the parents of 3 separate gymnists all accidentally forgot what year their kids were born in.

Not to mention that his is hardly the first time that China has forged documents of their athletes which they've been doing in basketball for awhile as well. The IOC, which is under huge pressure to make sure the games go well given that all the crap they have to put up with for picking such a massive human rights violator to host the games anyway, is going to do whatever they can to ignore that fact that China outright cheated.

Is it still whining if they are right? Because it's completely obvious that they are. One of the girls was either missing a tooth or had one knocked or has the gap of a size of a missing tooth in her mouth. They were previously documented as being 13 in provincial tournaments multiple times. If I were competing against people who were out and out cheating and it was so extraordinarily obvious that anyone with an IQ over a house plant could tell, then I'd be pretty pissed too.

It's easy to say "what's done is done", but the US is giving back gold medals for all the games that we found out our athletes cheated in, and we were the ones who found it out and investigated that. We did something honorable there. China is not only skipping past that part, but their government is making possible their cheating and covering it up so they can try to win the medal count. It's ridiculous. I don't really care about the medal, but I really don't understand how someone can cheat so obviously right in front of you and then people say "well it's over now so who cares?". No one in this country treats their own athletes that way.

We basically exile cheaters from our sports community. Is China just not capable of living up to that standard? Is China so pathetic that they should be allowed to cheat openly in front of us without getting upset. I let my 3 year old do that at board games. I didn't think China was the world's version of a 3 year old, but maybe that's how they want to be portrayed. They sure as hell aren't fooling anyone though if they think they are. I see no reason to cut them any slack on the issue.
