Isn't his last opportunity a team relay?

Without that computerized motion sensor, that would've sucked to call that race.

How would you challenge it? It's not judges guessing who got there first it's a sensor that reacts to touch. Whoever touches wins and slow motion showed Phelps touched first anyway.

i dont think anyone can draw a conclusion from the slow motion.
if you ask people who didnt watch this event, i bet you 50% will say the other guy won.

but yeah phelps is clearly the winner, because the sensor said so.

I know its all touchpad and computerized and what not, but I dunno, maybe Cavic touched it ahead of Phelps but with not enough pressure or something? I'm just sayin' :P

Anyways, I need to see a replay somewhere first.

What a race.... :o

Imagine one of the U.S. guys false starts or whatever and gets the team disqualified in their relay and screws up Phelps 8th gold

Yes but the USA team are heavy favorites. Of course this has all the makings of a letdown.

Impossible the slightest pressure would set it off, the result is indisputable.

Crocker did that last year at the World Championships which cost Phelps medal number eight then. Phelps finished with 7.

Cavic's coach is protesting it. I'm willing to bet that falls on deaf ears.

Well a protest is filed by Cavic's coach it just said on NBC. Don't know what difference that will make now. Also technology isn't complete infalliable either.

What?[/quote]

im saying it was way too close to know who won just by looking at the slow motion.

I don't see how a protest will do anything.

I'm assuming the sensors are much more reliable than judging by a replay from a camera at the bottom of the pool or whatever.

Precisely. The protest won't do anything. This is the only thing that will happen: for the next few years, haters and fans will be disputing this.

What could his argument possibly be? "My bias tells me your technology is wrong!"
