I'm not saying she is gaining an advantage. I'm saying I think the judges don't score her as high as she should just because of what they expect from him in terms of execution. I believe even the gymnast analyst said she thought the execution score she got was low for what she did. My statement was I think it's 'low' for what she did because they're grading her against herself.

The Steeplechase is an event that makes me chuckle. Like how did they even come up with this and why is it called steeplechase??

So basically you run around the track a bunch of times and every so often there's a short hurdle to jump over. But then once around the track each time you have to jump over a wall and land in a pool of water. And then run the rest of the race with water in your shoes.

It reminds me of if you robbed a liquor store or something and then fled on foot and jumped over a wall in the parking lot in the rain lol.

For real, it's such a weird event, like how the hell did someone come up with that. My theory (which is most likely wrong) is that it came from some race in the woods where you jump over fallen trees and run in water streams so they try to replicate that. But as weird as it is it's often very enjoyable to watch.

The event originated in Ireland, where horses and riders raced from one town's steeple to the next: the steeples were used as markers due to their visibility over long distances. Along the way, runners inevitably had to jump streams and low stone walls separating estates.

The modern athletics event originates from a two-mile (3.2 km) cross-country steeplechase that formed part of the University of Oxford sports in 1860. It was replaced in 1865 by an event over barriers on a flat field, which became the modern steeplechase.

It has been a men's Olympic event since the inception of the 1900 Olympics, though with varying lengths until 1908.
