Of course not lol

This entire thing has been a bad faith discussion from the start

They initially got mad cause they thought Imane was trans, and have spent the past week plus trying to justify that outrage instead of admitting they were wrong and she’s cis

Because they’re just weird

This isn't helpful at all.

This is a complicated issue and has been largely been maturely discussed. Please don't aggravate it.

Not really that complicated

A bunch of people got whipped into a trans panic and are now trying to retroactively justify it after it immediately became obvious she’s cis

Pretty simple really

I’d bet there are loads of female athletes who have similar biology as Imane, but they’re specifically targeting her because they initially thought she was trans

Just because they can word it “maturely” doesn’t make them less hateful. Bigots have spent a lot of time and effort trying to appear reasonable in order to get their bigotry to be accepted. This is no different.

Congrats Andrea Giani for the olympic gold in volleyball... Crazy that he did not win it with Italy but manages to do it with France... Anyway Italy will eventually get it, it's just an anomaly at this point.

Glad for our french squad obviously, even though the finale in Japan was more epic against Russia. Congrats Poland though (might be last time we have Kurek in the olympics, dont know..).

So first let me say that your post was exceptional in all the explanation it offered. I appreciate it!

Second let me apologize for offending. I appreciate you recognize this was not my intent, but I have to acknowledge I'm not sure how I offended and would request that you elaborate either here or on PM.

I do want to be clear I wasn't trying to say "should" there. I was listing the options as I saw them trying to avoid anything like a final judgment other than specific pros and cons that to me seemed plausibly objective in nature. If what I described isn't actually an option, than I am mistaken not just in that, but in my - apparently false - understanding of what the IOC seems to be doing in boxing right now.

Sincerely,
MJ

Hi, thank you and thanks too for another quality on topic thoughtful post. I hope we're good

Italy had Poland on the ropes. US was up on them, too.

Once again, bummed I missed the final. Had hoped Poland would finally break through as World Champs backing it up at Olympics but this was a thorough 3-0 French victory for a convincing consecutive Gold. Good momentum.......

I expect the US team to ride that home crowd momentum in 2028 for Gold.

They mirrored Poland in that SF so much. Both teams looked dominant and then when the momentum shifted each team looked like a shell of itself.

As for 2028, I'm not as familiar with the US squad. I guess it depends on how many guys return and what new talent the lineup can get. Like for Poland as bravor mentioned there are a couple of older guys who may not return.

Volleyball is so much about instinctually knowing what teammate tendencies are so as to best work as a cohesive unit that it takes time to develop that chemistry.

And for sure any French team or competitor benefits from the home crowd. US will have that in 2028.

I had a funny tiktok 'home audition for breakdancing at the Olympics' tweet lined up but seem to have lost it.

Hard to parody some like this.

Gotta say watching the replay of the Women's bronze water polo match, this U.S. team simply blew the opportunity in both these last 2 games to get a Medal. Very disappointing finish, I guess it means there will be redemption on their minds in 2028 though.

Brazil's women's soccer team flops at a Brazil men's team level of acting prowess.

So US women just won the gold medal in soccer. There's 18 players on the roster so that's 18 gold medals right? 8-)

A ****, they gave the bronze to the girl who least deserved it.

Should have been

3. Voinea(got a 0.1 deduction for stepping out of bounds when she didn't)
4. Chiles(got a 0.1 deduction of her difficulty...contested and initially approved, denied later after appeal, they made the request too late per the rules)
5. Barbosu

Instead they gave it to Barbosu.

Imane and Yu-ting won?

Image

The spirit of the Olympics in full effect? People intentionally referring to these women as men not getting what they want?

10/10 experience, would relive.
