Gymnastics in Winter Olympics

This would make the winter ones have more equity with the summer olympics. Women's gymnastics has always been inside after WWII. Very few men's gymnastics occurred outside; plus the committee has added more competitions. They cannot be held outside because of the weather. The summer Olympics tend to drag while the winter ones are over before you know it.

oh, and add group jump-roping :D

I wouldn't mind seeing Gymnastics and/or Basketball moved to the Winter Games.

As for Group Jump Roping - clearly that needs to be in both.

The gymnasts wear skimpy leotards--definitely not Winter Olympics fashion. I agree that here need to be more events, but I think the answer is Feats of Strength. Festivus celebrations definitely belong to Winter, and we could always add Airing of the Grievances for all those wishing to complain about judging event results.

I don't think there are currently any winter events that don't involve either ice or snow. So I'm pretty sure ice or snow is an unwritten requirement for something to be qualified for winter olympics.

I think that there is an unwritten rule that Winter Games include sports which explicitly require cold weather (i.e. snow and ice). Technically, you could transfer any indoor Summer Games event (e.g. boxing, wrestling, shooting, gymnastics etc.) to the Winter Games, but it would violate that "rule".

(Also, remember that the Summer Games have much bigger TV ratings than the Winter Games, so the boxing, wrestling, shooting and gymnastics associations are not eager to change in the first place.... $$$)

Gymnastics on ice would be pretty entertaining, as would boxing on ice. I'd actually watch those events.

The Horses would get injury, all hell would break lose in the South.

They should add skating obstacle course, on a frozen pond, outside in the elements.
