Now, I didn't touch Bogut's specific complaints because it happens at every Olympics. While IOC executives stay at 5 stars hotels the athletes stay at 'low income accommodations'. Which is the destination of the Village after the games most of the time. Or they simply using college dorms as the Olympic Village which happened in Los Angeles and Atlanta.

The exception is Rio's 2016. For the first time the Olympic Village was 100% funded by private companies. Every apartment have already an owner.. Now, after the games the Middle Class families that brought the apartments will adapt it to their own taste.

But as they say "A picture is worth a thousand of words":

There's no comparison with Rio's Olympic Village with any other in the history of the games and mostly important: 100% privately funded.

Btw, just so you know... London's Olympic Stadium alone (which is still not used) cost more than all arenas summed up that were build for the Rio2016.

So yeh, it's a developing country so there are problems with public security, pollution, transportation, etc. But it's not the scenario of a war thorn city the media is portraying.

Do they want to surf and swim in toxic water in other Olympics too? They did tell the lond distance swimmers not to open their mouth for a reason.

Brazil was never in conditions to have the Olympics in its territory. I feel ashamed of this situation and trust my sig.

You're a moron.
Don't trust this guy... He doesn't speak for all brazilians.

Like the World Cup, will be an amazing event.

Unfortunately the new sports will be added only for Tokyo's Olympics; But that's a good question, Gavran. It allows me to bring up a point... The World's best surfers compete in Rio every year for the WCT championship. Funnily how nothing happens to them and they all come back for the next year. Isn't that amazing?

Now, if you surfed one day in your life you know that when you are surfing and gets caught inside a wave and it breaks on top of you then you can swallow up to half a gallon of water... They must be super humans.

Here's where they compete in Rio:
