Re: Andrew Bogut mad at Village accommodations

Now, I didn't touch Bogut's specific complaints because it happens at every Olympics. While IOC executives stay at 5 stars hotels the athletes stay at 'low income accommodations'. Which is the destination of the Village after the games most of the time. Or they simply using college dorms as the Olympic Village which happened in Los Angeles and Atlanta.
The exception is Rio's 2016. For the first time the Olympic Village was 100% funded by private companies. Every apartment have already an owner.. Now, after the games the Middle Class families that brought the apartments will adapt it to their own taste.
But as they say "A picture is worth a thousand of words":
There's no comparison with Rio's Olympic Village with any other in the history of the games and mostly important: 100% privately funded.
Btw, just so you know... London's Olympic Stadium alone (which is still not used) cost more than all arenas summed up that were build for the Rio2016.
So yeh, it's a developing country so there are problems with public security, pollution, transportation, etc. But it's not the scenario of a war thorn city the media is portraying.
