I believe Misty May and Kerri Walsh are playing in the championship match against China tonight for the gold in sand volleyball.

Xue/Zhang just won the bronze against the Brazilians. :) Now if they played like this against the other Chinese team they'd have been in the finals.

But silver and bronze in beach volleyball for China is pretty damn good. Who would have thought that before the olympics began? :)

Walsh/May suppose to be up next, but might get delayed because of rain.

Congrats to the American team. I take back the thing about real volleyball players, I keep forgetting these girls have to jump in sand, which is HARD. Although seriously, the chinese girls need to put on some muscles.

Tight match, but it was never in doubt. 108 straight matches won. Just too good to ever get beat.

And I LOVE those dancing Chinese bikini girls :D

Also great job by the Chinese women nabbing silver and bronze. :) A big accomplishment considering they were nowhere this good back in 2004 olympics.

China got a silver and a bronze in beach volleyball, by American's ranking , Chinese won it.

No kidding.

2>1

How many people find the current ranking on NBC's front page odd?

Fun match. I keep thinking that the other Chinese pair may have given Walsh/May a better challenge, because they are taller and more powerful.

The final match is so soft, too many trick shots on both sides.

Meh May and Walsh are the best of all time, they would have won against any team. But the bronze team will probably win gold in 2012 considering they are a young team and May/Walsh may not compete in those games.

Its possible. Xue is similar to Walsh and Zhang is similar to May, but Xue needs to work on her blocking and shot selection. Zhang plays great mostly and has great shot selection and digs almost as well as May. But both of them need to work on their serves and try and have less service errors though. I can definitely see them having a good shot for gold if May/Walsh don't play.

Americans lost the baton in relay race and won't be competing in the finals.

I never knew waterpolo could be so exciting. Impressive comeback by the US after falling 4-0 behind, but luckily it wasn't enough. And I'm no expert on waterpolo, but 7 goals in one game (Danielle de Bruin) seems mighty impressive.
