USA set a World Record by 5+ seconds. That's just plain stupid. We finished so far ahead of the field they weren't even visible in the camera.

I'm awed by what Michael Phelps and mens swim team are doing. They aren't just winning, but totally obliterating the competition. Phelps now has what, 11 Gold Medals giving him the most all time? And he's still got a chance to win (I think) 4 more? And setting world records every time out. Wow.

Dude is looking like the most dominant athlete, relative to his sport of all time. I mean, what Phelps is doing is more impressive than anything MJ or Tiger or Federer have done. The guy is just unreal.

So he has 5 already this Olympics? Geez. I missed one somewhere.

wow, it was simply amazing how phelps destroyed everyone and let the golden path for the other 3 swimmers that were as dominant as phelps looked, they were what 3 almost 4 bodies ahead of 2nd place?

and don't forget he's likely to be back in 2012. I'm sure he won't be as dominant by then but he could probably add a few more in the relays and butterfly events (his specialty).

It'll be interesting to see how many he has. He could end up with twice as many golds as the next closest person when he's done!

doesnt matter. other contries are wearing the same suits too

its the training, suit and pool... thats leading to the WR

The biggest factor is the training tho, and the countries with high funding levels capitalize the most on that aspect

Yeah, I'm losing track. At one glance he had 3, then all of a sudden he had 5 under his belt.
