Men's 100mts final, Bolt new WR record [Merged]

Post#1 » by ghuytro » Sat Aug 16, 2008 12:44 am

This guy is so damned fast that in one of the preliminary 100m heats he basically shut it down at about 50m and cruised to the finish line in a time of 9.92 all the while looking around all casual like

If anyone has the video of this please - it was hilarious.

He's going to break the 9.7 mark, no question in my mind.

It used to be a big thing to get into 10 sec mark. Looks like if he give it all, he can break the WR again.

that was hilarious. He casually peaks to the right while jogging and wins the race. Pwned.

Yeah it was crazy, I thought his inexperience might count against him but he looks in awesome shape... Asafa looked pretty good too, if he can hold his composure with fast guys around him Jamaica should go 1-2... Gay has looked terrible so far IMO and will need to get things going to medal at all... I tipped him for gold... yikes.

Men's 100mts final, Bolt new WR record

Post#11 » by hype_2004 » Sat Aug 16, 2008 12:27 pm

looked very rusty all through the heats, I don't think hes full recovered from his mild hamstring injury, but thats the way it goes in sports and life, tough, tough break in the most significant part of his athletic career. It looks like Jamaica is set to go 1 and 2, with Bolt being in another world altogether, a 9.6 is definitely on the horizon.

Gay is gone... Bolt will win in WR time, daylight 2nd, Powell 3rd.

Now, that is just sick. Same domination as Phelps in swimming, if not better. He broke the world record while jogging the last 20 metres.

wow, what a race from bolt, new WR, 9.69 seconds!!!!!

what an athlete, he even "slowed" down a little bit during the last meters.

too bad gay wasn't 100% healthy and also too bad for powell not making the 1st 3, were 2&3 a surprise?

9.69 WR

With Bolt looking around at 70meters, arms wide open at 80meters, and thumping his chest at 95meter !!!!

No wind either... he could have easily dipped below 9.5 secs. In a Canadian Interview he said he didnt want to take a gaint chuck out of the current WR.

Wow its funny to watch on replay how everyone is going full out with pain on their faces and you see Bolt jogging to the finish line like a run in the park.

Wish he would run full out all the way just to see what he would have ended up with. I think he could have easily went under 9.6.

I couldn't believe how he was leaving the competition in the dust, on top of that he was so sure of himself, Bolt started celebrating...Flailing his arms, thumping his chest...and still he beat the world record!!!

Incredible athlete!!

Bolt is a monster. I didn't catch these finals, but will see them later. I did see the quarters last night and knew he was going to shatter his record. He looked like he was jogging at 50m and still demolished the field. I can only imagine what he would've done if he actually put out an effort on the track.

Imagine what would happen if they found out he was doping.
