The Single Worst/Lamest Olympic Event

Post#1 » by Joker » Thu Aug 21, 2008 6:25 pm

My vote goes to Equestrian Dressage:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKQgTiqhPbw

At the peak of a dressage horse's gymnastic development, it can smoothly respond to a skilled rider's minimal aids by performing the requested movement while remaining relaxed and appearing effortless. Dressage is occasionally referred to as "Horse Ballet"

It is f**king horse dancing!

Talk about antiquated Olympic events.

Why not put a dog show in the Olympics?

Absolutely. I've seen reports about horses get drug tested and disqualified. Horses have been disqualified for positive steroid tests in the past.

This olympics, 4 horses have been DQ for using a drug that makes their skin extra sensitive and painful to discourage them from touching barriers.

That's disgusting.

Anything with horses, its not even the athlete doing anything.

Dressage is actually super difficult and a many years of training goes into getting a horse to act all sissy like that. I'd go with Race Walking

Somebody read my mind. I just saw race walking on UHD and was shocked at how utterly lame it was. Walking should not be considered an Olympic sport--it's what fat people do because they can't run.

They used to have bicycle polo before, they should bring that back.

difficulty level and years of training required isn't really suitable criteria to determine a sport's merit in the olympics. mastering the piano takes years of training as well.

I like Curling. It takes a good deal of intuition to be a great sweeper.

women baseball or women basket ball, I cannot decide which one. Maybe I am too used to NBA and MLB, watching women play hoops or swing bats is painful.

I'm still not sure what the worst is, but if this gets added it will definitely be the best.
