Bolt could have run 9.52 in Olympics, coach says

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijin ... &type=lgnsZURICH (Reuters) - Triple Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Usain Bolt could have run the 100 meters in 9.52 seconds if he had not slowed to celebrate, his coach said on Wednesday.
Glen Mills said Bolt, who electrified Beijing with his sprint victories, was at the start of his 100 career and would peak only in about two years’ time.
“If he had continued, the slowest he would have run would have been 9.52,” Mills told reporters ahead of Friday’s Weltklasse athletics meeting in Zurich, where Bolt is due to run the 100.

Either his coach has gone crazy or Bolt could have tried harder from the start.

Bolt was smart if he held back on purpose (which I don't think he did).
He's going to get bonus money for breaking WR running pro in Europe. He absolutely deserves to get paid to play.

yeah, i think that for the next couple of years he will be breaking it during the golden league and the world cup, etc.

yeah, i don't remember, but i think that he has 3 races for the next month or so that will earn him 1.5 million euros...

For all you new Bolt fans, wander over to the Realgm Track & Field forum...
Theres a tumbleweed blowing through there right now lol... but I'm sure theres lots of ppl who have enjoyed either the sport prior to the Olympics, or now after being blown away by Bolt.

A lot of sprinters say they've posted unbelievable times in practice before. Every sprinter has good days, but not all of them coincide with the Olympics.

I saw it this past weekend, and I don't think he was coasting at the end. He started out of the blocks late so that probably affected his time. He's probably a bit tired now too. I can't imagine being an athlete competing in an event a week after the Olympics. To me, anything you do those few months after the Olympics is anti-climactic.
