I concur: Great write-up.

And...I'll happily accept the unofficial "GM of the Year" award, since that's the only thing I'm wining this year. :)

I do find it ironic that being the best trading GM put me in the 9-14 fighting for playoffs/consolation spot. Further validation that trading draft picks may be detrimental to your health. ;) For me, my trades mostly came because I started to second guess my draft picks. I should've taken Biyombo instead of Waiters, and I ended up having no confidence in Valanciunas, so they both had to go.

I do agree that the Thornton deal may come back to bite me, but In the end it'll probably end up being Asik and Barnes for Thornton, since White has already shown his volatility in camp and preseason. And frankly, that's a deal that I don't think is too bad.

Frankly, I'm really relying on my sleepers/x factors than I'd like to be:
Festus Ezeli: Shown he can play, and will probably get plenty of time to do so playing behind Bogut
Lou Williams: hoping this is a break out year as one of the go-to scorers in Atlanta
AYon: Still stuck in a position battle with Vucevic, but I think he's a much more complete player than Vucevic is (and he's shown it)
Rivers: YEah, I hate betting on a rookie, but he's going to get fairly good minutes off the bench, and who knows how long Eric Gordon will stay healthy.
T-Rob: Looking like a stand-out already, let's hope he keeps it up
Parsons: The only guy besides Lin and MArtin who are proven scorers on theRockets. He's got to be productive.
Jordan Hill: Sneaky double-double guy who could get even more minutes if Howard sees rest sporadically throughout the year (and to end the year).

Best write up so far.

Just throwing some thoughts out there...

- Next year if you draft top 3 and want to swap draft position with me, let me know. I'm not afraid of drafting at the top end.

- Korver! All draft long I was watching my guys go right before me. It was very painful. But, Korver was the exception. I was watching him fall for a while before my pick and he actually didn't get snapped up like everyone else I liked.

- You have me ranked as great in FG%. My draft strategy included me tanking FG%. But, I went after defensive player after defensive player early on, avoiding 3pt gunners til later in the draft. This really helped my FG%, really by accident. Half way through the draft I was considering punting 3s instead and shoring up FG% instead, but, I decided to stay the course and try to add some 3s late as planned. I hope it pans out.

- Bogut. He was the pick I've taken the most heat for. I just don't see a lot of chronic injuries there, seems like just a lot of freak injuries to me. That means in my mind he's got a decent chance of being healthy on a given year. Also his FG% was horrific last year, I expect that will return to his career average in GS and give him a nice bump in value.

- Punting FT%. It was a crowded field. Mostly it was Gokce stepping on my toes (and probably me on his) but, the guys I wanted were going pretty much right before me most picks.

- Asik trade: I think this one might hurt me. I love getting Thornton, but, both Asik and Barnes are looking very good. Watching WB draft he took guy after guy that I liked, or even liked more after he drafted them. I'll be shocked if he misses the playoffs.

- I'm thinking depth will be the story this year. In a 20 team league with 14 players a team that's a ton of depth, and with a h2h league you get to play everyone. So, I look for teams that traded down for depth to have more success than teams that traded up for quality. I'm actually not even much afraid of the streamers this year, with 280 players taken there just wont be much to stream with. That's another thing, injuries will hurt a ton this year. Not only won't you be able to stash injured guys, but, when Earl Watson is the best guy on waivers that doesn't much offset the loss of Rondo.

- Hmmm, and I traded up for Thornton...

Picks I don’t like – Anthony Randolph and Teletovic. With Teletovic, I’m afraid of what I don’t know. As for Randolph…how many years is he going to fool us? I don’t see him playing in front of Faried, McGee, Koufus, or Mozgov. Wasted pick in my opinion, but there’s still tons of potential there.

I think I did take Teletovic too high.

As for AR, I took him at 192. He has C eligibility. I had just lost Frye at C and had to get another. He plays for the Denver "fast break" Nuggets. And it doesn't matter who he's behind, he gets more stats in fewer minutes than some of those guys. I'll take even money bets AR outperforms 192 if anyone is interested.

I might put even money the next guy drafted with C eligibility ends ranked higher.

That would be Marcus Camby @ #193. Drafted by some dufus I can't really remember.

Ten bucks on the end of season cumulative ranking for our league settings on basketballmonster? That AR is better than Camby, specifically.

I'm surprised Mills and Butler weren't the ones identified as wasted picks on my team.

My opinion on my squad was that it would have been a bubble team with Frye, but will end up around 15 without him.

I guess that's fair. I'd prefer not to do a cash bet though. How about winner has rights to swap draft position next year? (swapping all 14 picks from each team)

I think I have to take that bet simply because it's so creative. Well done.

Last year was Camby #116, Randolph #275. Clearly AR has his work cut out for him.

I am also willing to be involved in that kind of bet with with anyone who wants. Chronically, my draft positions are so awful that there's no risk in it for me.

I have to say, I think this is a fool's bet. Anthony Randolph is so buried on that depth chart, you'll need to start counting DLeague numbers to give him a chance of beating (or equaling) his draft position.

The flip side is that Camby had both opportunity and health last season. He may have neither this season. There is plenty of risk to go around on this one.

I don't know. I'd take proven Camby playing behind Chandler over Randolph playing behind that depth in Denver and with George Karl's short fuse with guys.

Do you mean his own team, or the opposing team?

We're coming up to it now.

As is the custom, I will reset add/drops for the first day of the season, and the 45 limit will begin then.

With the recent changing of the guard on my team, I am interested in trading Paul Millsap away for a PG. Send offers my way if interested.

Wow, it's really tough to pull off a trade in this league. I'm not terribly happy with the trade with 3si, he wins out, no question. But I have like 25 forwards on my team, and am losing some prime production. So 2 forwards had to go. I call it addition by subtraction.

So what is the procedure for the postponed games again?

?? Not sure what you mean. They make them up later. The players involved will have one appearance less this week, and one more in some future week.
