And, let's add the fact that Carl HASN'T EVER WON anything in this league. Even MY paltry record beats him on that.

I won the Consolation Championship. And frankly, I'd rather win a consolation championship than win nothing at all...especially since I dusted YOU off in that consolation championship.

I know I exaggerate things sometimes for the sake of rivalry but this is a little silly isn't it? You're telling me that out of these three options:

A) Go 80-103-6 and "win" the 7th place game

B) Go 136-53-0 and finish 3rd

C) Go 118-68-3 and finish 2nd

... you're saying you would choose option A as being the most successful season?

All I know is I've clinched 5 cats, I'm good for the semifinals.

I'd rank Blake as the most successful manager in the history of FFDL, with Carl second. Coady will be in a close third, but will climb to 2nd (IMO) with another championship this season.

Wait, so Coady (who has won a championship) goes second to CArl (who has won NONE)? I find your logic fuzzy.

The issue wasn't about a successful season, it was about a successful league record, and what's more, it's not winning the 7th place game, it's winning the consolation championship. But, for the sake of argument, I'll bite. Of course I'd rather be in the playoffs, but I'd also rather actually win something than be an also-ran.

Let me explain my reasoning by looking at our two teams.

In the last few years, you've made it to the playoffs, but you've consistently come up short. Why? A team that does well in the season but comes up short in the playoffs usually means that they've chosen guys who either peeter out at the end of the season or who don't perform due to team reasons (i.e. Lebron's probably going to be a liability for teams this year). This is the reason people focus on playoff schedules in H2H, because so many teams have major liabilities down the stretch, and a waiver wire add may do better than a top 25 guy due to team schedules or the desire to rest players for the playoffs. But I digress: The mark of a good manager is one that can choose players who will perform when it counts. Teams that come up short in the playoffs usually miss the mark because they've chosen good early season and midseason performers. And this has been the case for your team...though, your Darren Collison add probably kept you in the playoffs and, his minutes going forward will determine whether you win or lose this year.

My team has had a completely different problem. I choose guys who perform at the end of the year, and with late season heroes like Marcus Thornton, I usually make a strong push for the playoffs. I just barely missed out this year, and with even just one more week of Louis Williams as a top 10 guy (prior to his jaw injury), things would be different...but still, I think the numbers I put up will compete well against playoff teams. This is why I think winning the consolation championship is better than winning nothing at all. It recognizes the team with guys who perform at the end of the year.

Please, someone trade for Louis Williams so we can stop hearing about him being a top ten player. He did that for like what a week?

The consolation championship is meaningless. It's like the NIT or the Music City Bowl.

Try the first month and a half. And I'd be happy to trade him to you for Gallinari.

And if the consolation championship is meaningless, then why are YOU still setting your line up?

My season's over. Congrats to AlciG, and the best four teams this season will finish in the top 4, which is fair.

I think of what might have been. No Tyreke Evans and no Thaddeus Young. Playing 13 on 15 in the FFDL championship playoffs just won't get it done. Still, if Earl Watson doesn't go 3/7 from the line on the week, things would've got interesting. If my team didn't shoot themselves in the foot too, another category would've been open.

Onto next season, I'll be back guys.

Thanks a lot... was a hard fought win.

I don't think that would really have helped you because the only cat that was really the difference between our teams this week was FT% and I'm not sure they would have helped you there.

All the other cats the difference was too big.

Was always going to be a hiding to nothing, the 3 form sides at the moment are Stanford, Carl and yourself. Hopefully next season I have a full squad and become a regular fixture in the playoffs.

Well... I'll soon be joining you fishing... save some for me. Stanford is going to have his way with me. I can't battle him without a healthy Martin and Arenas :(

I'll trade you the consolation championship for Eric Gordon.
