I agree. Add/drops were always allowed following the end of the draft.

More than happy to do so, why don't you do the work for me? Is that what you just said? I asked you to do the work and find out what the rules are given that we have a disagreement on our hands and it seems floppy hasn't been given the rules yet anyways. You're the commish, that's your job.

Actually, Carl, I said: Let's split the work. You check the thread, I'll contact Sly. What I probably should have said was: That's the rule.

And, you're right, I'm the commish and it's my job to make sure the rules are known, so, as I posted immediately following the draft:

You may do add/drops after the draft.

You questioned the rule, and, for your benefit, I had you go look back at other years (again, this was simply for your own benefit). The rule (above) was stated as it should be. Either way, I would respectfully ask that you forego the hostility toward me or any member of this league. I know we've disagreed in the past, and for my part, I'm sorry. I am perfectly fine with trash-talk about teams, but let's keep the hostility to a minimum, shall we?

Yeah I just don't think that would be a fitting end to all the "rivalry". I respectfully will continue my hostility toward you WB.

We used to do the draft in late August and it would continue into September. By that time it could be immediately loaded into Yahoo.com.

So I'm gathering this league has been going for years. How did you all get started? Did this originate with realgm? If so it predates the fantasy forums, right?

I wan't an original member but I can give most of the history. I don't think it predates the forum because the FF stands for "Fantasy Forum" as the whole name is Fantasy Forum Dyanasty League. It's going into its 6th season. It was started by one manager who was there for only the first season and sly. The league had 12 teams its first year, and needed to replace 1 manager and decided to expand to add two managers. I think bww won Season 1. I believe he drafted rookie Chris Paul late in the initial draft, which helped him. Youngstar and I joined for Season 2 as part of the expansion draft. The team with the manager that wasn't returning was disbanded as part of the expansion draft pool and we had a three team expansion draft. Exisiting teams were allowed to protect five players initially, and then eight after losing a player in the draft.

Somewhere during and after the draft two more original managers had to be replaced and stanford took over a fairly weak team. He made a lot of trades to stockpile first round picks over the next few years and gain young talent, which lead to the current monster of a team that floppy has. He had one of the bottom dwellars in seasons 2 and 3. Season 2 went well for the expansion teams as two of the three made the playoffs, and the other (mine) won the Consolation bracket. sly was the champion for Season 2. I won Season 3, stanford won Season 4, and then AlciG just won Seaason 5.

Original managers (I think) are sly, bww, wb, setterlund, theman, east, skai, and kohanz. Youngstar and I are from the Season 2 expansion. So that's your basic league history lesson.

wow, that covers it quite well, except for the part where I nearly beat BWW in the first year as the clear number 2 team, only to have my team be a complete disappointment for years 2-6. I'll add our little rivalry for the consolation championship: you won a few years ago, I won the next year, then it was you again last year. This year, I'm so winning that consolation championship! (yeah, I'm shooting high here).

A couple notes on hamncheese's history lesson. The other original commissioner along with sly was named Singh Shady. This league predates RealGM's expansion to baseball, football and hockey forums and, but was always in the Fantasy Basketball Forum, just under a different website format. You also forgot to mention that I hold nearly every record related to wins.

Carl, I provided you with a straight answer from the beginning, and that straight answer was: We are allowed to do add/drops on the league board.

As the co-commish, I handle the day-to-day issues like this, and any discrepancy will be handled by sly, as was the case for the last few seasons with Jordan.

Let's please move on from this. Thanks. Brian

East has traded Boris Diaw to WB for the right to swap 2013 1st rounders (East gets the better of the two).

With this trade, East adds Tyson Chandler

With this trade, WB drops Lance Stephenson

I confirm.

As theman pointed out I recall that when our draft ended we were able to then make add/drops on yahoo. So in essence, we have always been able to do add/drops during the offseason.

I also wanted to give my vote of confidence for WB as a commish. Its not an easy job but so far the draft and the offseason in general has gone off without a hitch.

I agree, my team has always struggled with FT% and TO's. I usually punt these cats though. Hopefully, Zbo and Kmart might help me not be dead last in FT% this year.

I don't think that dropping 2 categories will keep you out of the top 6, frankly.

I've revised my rankings because I just can't see your team not making it...

Have to object to the "add/drops on the board" rule.

I checked the settings for the league on yahoo for the last 3 years and all the 3 years the "Post Draft Players" option is set to "Follow Waiver Rules" .. which is 1 day. So I don't think there is any precedence for this.

That is because that is the setting once we've gone to Yahoo (and it's set that way so the commissioner can more easily manage the IL list). As confirmed by others, we have traditionally made add/drops here.

That being said, technically, if there is a 1-day waiver period, that period officially passed on Sunday, and since there were no infractions against the wavier period (even though we've never had one on the board), I see no reason why people cannot add and drop now as they wish.

Ok, this is probably unprecedented, but I'm going to drop Ron Artest and add a long term prospect back to my roster who may be replaced between now and October: Lance Stephenson**. Frankly, with the new direction of my team, Ron became quite expendable because, well, he actually sucks from a fantasy perspective.

** my long term prospect has now been replaced: Lance Stephenson has been dropped for Ramon Sessions

Though, we will ALWAYS REMEMBER him for his 20 points and 5 steals in the title-clinching game in the NBA finals.

That being said, we will try to FORGET his odd showing at the Laker parade:
