Re: Semi-Keeper League
I second that. We're only keeping 5 players leaving openings. Why wouldn't we have 4 rounds at least? I'm also a little confused about the difference between the rookie draft and the FA draft. Shouldn't we just combine the 2?

Re: Semi-Keeper League
I think a combined free agent and rookie draft would be amazing. I think it would reward those who do their homework and it allows everyone to use their team building style whether it's build through youth, win now, or find value through later rounds.

You are correct. Two rounds in the rookie draft. The rest of the draft is done by auction. The draft picks that are available for trade are made available by Yahoo. I have no control over how many rounds are available.

It's pretty simple.
Rookie draft: works like in the NBA. 2 rounds.
FA draft: It is an auction. So there really aren't any rounds. Just spend until you've either run out of money, or your team is full.

So is our salary reset for the draft or do we carry over our in season salary?

I thought we had a different salary for the draft. but I'm not sure.

We carry it over. It was all in the rules before the season began.

This is a bit stupid
1st there were guys that send 51$ on 1 guy ( this season and i was NOT one of them ) but could be me i didnt spend but I could
2nd why should we have a rookie draft ??? why ??? we dont have 20 gm and 14 player team? we have 14 teams x 9 players thats a total of 126!!!
3rd we have guys like Henderson + vasquez + mcgee + bogut + G.hill etc etc etc ok now you want us to fill ours teams with 2 rookies lmao
4th I dont know if you realize we are trading draft picks
we got to have a full draft imho and i not rulling in my favor cause i m winning now team

Thanks. You're welcome to leave the league anytime.

What is your point? Whether they want to spend money now or later on players is completely up to them.
2nd why should we have a rookie draft ??? why ??? we dont have 20 gm and 14 player team? we have 14 teams x 9 players thats a total of 126!!!
Huh? Again, not sure what your point is here. You don't think guys want to draft any rookies? Ok, you are welcome to waive your draft picks.
3rd we have guys like Henderson + vasquez + mcgee + bogut + G.hill etc etc etc ok now you want us to fill ours teams with 2 rookies lmao
You really don't understand this? If you don't want two picks, don't use them. Simple as that.
4th I dont know if you realize we are trading draft picks
I do realize that. That's why I mentioned it like 7 posts above.
we got to have a full draft imho and i not rulling in my favor cause i m winning now team
We don't "got to" do anything. The rules for this league were set well before the season started. No one forced you to join. Go create your own league if you don't like this one.
In other news, I'm seeking a replacement for Fran's team next season if you know anyone, cause he will not be invited back.

Re: Semi-Keeper League
To be honest, I was confused by the drafting and salary rules from the get-got, but I'm not going to go complain about my lack of understanding. Sure, I thought we had a renewable $100 every year, so I spent all but 20 something of my salary, but really, my team will probably be fine regardless of whether I spend all the 100 or not, and if I really want money, I'll trade for it.
I think I was mostly thrown off by the 7 draft picks on our team page. I probably missed the announcement to ignore picks 3-7…but either way, I'm not going to cry about it. I think my team is built pretty solid for this year and the next few years to come.

No, not mad. Just indifferent really. And, to be honest, looking for managers who understand the purpose of this league...which you apparently do not.

Re: Semi-Keeper League
So I think we have an inactive Manager.
MoGrady hasn't posted here since September. Also, as far as I can tell, he hasn't set his lineup since November.
He may argue that he's tanking this year to build for the future, but we don't allow complete inactivity and refusing to set your lineup for months at a time. That throws off the balance of the league.
So, unless anyone has any objections, I am going to lock his team, and we will look for a replacement manager next season.
Also, we will have to come up with a fair way to deal with his draft pick situation. I don't want to penalize the new manager, but on the other hand, the managers who are playing fair will be penalized if this team gets the highest draft pick because of a refusal to set daily lineups. Make sense?

Have you tried sending him an email to see what's up before booting him out right? I know he recently got married and honeymooned.
