rove, post your contact mail address and check back often in next few weeks, there will be work to be done.

writersblock wrote:Sorry I'm responding so late...but if there's room in this league, I'd love to join up. Let me know. Here's my email address: squirrelzipper at yahoo dot com.

you're definitely on the waiting list. if anyone of remaining gms doesn't report in next few days or if anyone drops out you're in. i'd love to have an active contributor like you in our league.

ys thanx for sending the pms

everyone who wants to play this league has to vote on rule changes. if he has no opinion on the changes he can abstain from voting on any specific rule, but voting will serve as activity test as well. activity is my main concern here and i reserve the right to replace anyone who doesn't bother to show up for the vote. it will last long enough. when will it begin, i guess you'll have to keep checking in to find out

I like all the rules but the mandatory rookie rule. I just don't think there are enough rookies worth a roster spot.

That rookie rule is the only thing keeping me in this league.

So, I'm not in the league...yet...but my 2 cents on the rookie rule is that keeping one on your roster all season is unproductive, but keeping one mandatory rookie over the offseason is a good idea, and, in the end, if it's mandatory to keep a rookie over the offseason, chances are, people will stash one rookie all season anyway...so having a rule about it all season is probably moot.

One question, I looked at the rules and couldn't tell, is this a weekly roster change league (as opposed to daily)?

I would be fine with keeping this as is ... ie enforcing a rookie spot only during the off season. That way, teams that want to invest in youth can do so with the added advantage of trading them to teams with more of a win-now attitude. These teams would typically be ones without a rookie keeper and need to trade for one before/during the draft.

That said, I would not be totally averse to Nostradamus's rule ... especially if I land a high draft pick ;)

I'm against the reduction in IL spots. Don't really get the point of that.

Shrinking benches and the new draft lottery system both sound fine.

sacstar16 wrote:#1 and 2: I love the idea of taking away 3 bench spots but I'd rather it not be mandatory to have a rookie throughout the season or to have drafted one, especially with 3 less bench spots. I think it should only be necessary for managers to have a rookie by the end of the season.

Agreed, with the difference that I think there shouldn't be any requirement to draft a rookie or keep one at any stage of the season.

ok it's been 10 days since i took over, more then enough for everyone to report in. since kkranks and Chicken Soup failed to do it so far i've decided to replace them. as of now writersblock is officially member of this league. if one of those 2 missing gms reports in before we find a replacement he can still claim his spot.

i'd prefer to find a gm who is active poster on this forum, so that will be my main criteria in selecting the replacement. if you have any influnce on forum regulars try to lobby for them to join us

To my recollection, I was next in line to get an open spot, right?

If so, I'd like Chicken Soup's team.

Thanks!

actually bww has the 1st choice, you have the 2nd. and if one of the 2 missing gms comes back he'll get his own team back so you might not get to choose team depending on final league roster or you get to choose one of the 2 remaining teams after bww makes his choice if neither kkranks nor Chicken soup are back

Thanks...I had recalled that BWW had spoken for Ducky's team, so Chicken Soup's was the one I was interested in. If you're assuming that either of the 3 teams will actually be back, then I guess this whole conversation is a bit premature anyway.

When will you make final decisions on this. If I'm in the league, I'd like to start getting to work on the re-construction of my team. I'm sure BWW would agree on this as well.

Are we having the rookie rule implemented? I need to know before I commit to the league.
