Re: FFL - 2013-14 - Draft in progress

Post#821 » by fraanciiscoo » Fri Sep 6, 2013 11:54 am

my team is almost done 1 pick to go

pg Ty Lawson
sg DeMar DeRozan
g Jamal Crawford
g Ray Allen
sf Paul Pierce
pf David West
f jarred sullinger
f Battier
c Marc Gasol
c Jonas Valanciunas
g Ben McLemore
g Tysun Prince
g Josh McRoberts
g

sick draft
for the 1st time i had a top 3 pick ( last year i had one but traded for her ) but unlike other years this year we didnt had a top 3 kd<>LBJ then cp3 we had a top 2 and then a top 3 ( cp3, harden, curry).

**** i thought
who to pick
i never draft a sg/sf in the 1st pick especially when its the 3rd why? then i will have the 38 and 43 and
a) the C left are the one that doesnt fit with harden
B) neither the pg
outch
so i pass
curry had a great year hell yeah but he is 2 inj phone to me and remember when monta where there... now mr iggy is there + inj risk i pass
so i took cp3 . new coach that like to give major min to his starters. well i see a great year for him

The problem was when I got to my 38/43 cause when i saw
- duncan going @22 ( yeah i know i had him last year w/my #61 pick ) but cmon are you expection the same this season? no i dont
- rondo @ 34 cmon he going to be out 2 months at least then 1 more month starting to play slowlly thats 12 fantasy h2h matchs
- and parker @35 well pg that doesn´t shoot 3s´that had a good season last year especially cause duncan also had one. and his injurys last season lost 16 games

I couldn´t belive that the guy that was on #25 on my list was still there aka ty lawson. since i already had 1pg i could go low ball but all the C that go good with low ball were picked except david lee, bosh and Val.
since bosh was picked my options went for a guy that doesnt block and last year his team did pretty good when he got inj in the playoffs ( and that got way more deep than last year ) or val with terrific upside

my strategy was
I wanted both FG% and FT% way strong the rest will see

next pick were 78 and 83

Again at 78 i saw paul pierce and was wtf?!? nah going to pick him he **** a bit my fg% but since i think his pts will go down so he could take better shoots and his fg% go up.

and when i go to 83 I wanted to pick a Pf/C but zack was gone, faried, perk all gone the only one left were chandler that didnt fit with my team imo so i decided to look to bpa and thought to draft with my next pick #118 someone like robin/spliter/hawes but then looked and saw 8 players that i liked ( no special order kevmat, ojmayo, green, gordon, mathews, korver, demmar,Henderson )
but then wb offer me a trade that i accepted
#C:
fran sends: 83, 238, 278
wb sends: 125, 138, 205

why did i accepted 2 big bumps and i thought players might fall since they were falling ( lawson, pp...)

But players from my list fall like flys and I went to look to see who was around and my thought were : " theres alot G spots and not so many good F / C " so i decided to trade cp3 for a PF or C
2 options LMA and Gasol
why do i chosse to go after gasol
3 things
1st he plays 82 games per season
2nd good Fg% and FT%
3rd who is the C that had more ast per game last season? marc gasol w/4pg to not to lose a ton

the david west combo was a bonus I knew that i couldn´t get players from my list so lets ship 123
#E:
fran sends: Chris Paul, 123
tkunit sends: Marc Gasol, David West

I m 100% sure that if tkunit knew who´s going to be available at 123 he would made the trade ... I m wrong m8?

with that trade i now had
Pg lawson
sg
g
g
sf prince
pf dwest
f
f
c Valanciunas
c marc gasol

I thought it was time to get my sg and demmar was there good fg% ft% pts also decent stl reb and low to
overpaid right but also was overpaid in the wb trade could afford it
but keep my 118

fran sends: 125, 138
jazzfan sends: 107, 210

@118 I was damm i could keep cp3 since robin was there but I couldnt pick 3rd center why?

http://basketballmonster.com/ScheduleGrid.aspx

tor, men and por doesn´t have alot quality games so either i pick him to trade him like i did with r.jackson ( I will explain latter ) or i would lose a value spot.

but who to choose I was between 3 guys
Jamal Crawford
Manu Ginobili
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
went with jc to give a bump to my 3pts, stl, pts, ft%. He wouldnt hurt my fg% since it was already strong and manu this year with green and leonard will have the his worst pt ever, he also gets inj alot
MKG would hurt my ft% and i didnt want that
also only had 2G so...

with my 158 and 163 the idea was either pick guys to help my rebs blk or to help my 3pts and stl
when I looked to see who was around i was surprised since imo I had other guy falling @158
ben mclemore
he had a bad summer league but cmon did you saw his numbers in college? he can score, get 3pts, stl and he rebs alot for a sg. I dont get it why he fall since he is not austin rivers

but @163 what should i do
I had a few names
Ray Allen - allen is still solid + if wade gets inj he will step up since they dont have no one more + he get stl 3pts pts good %´s why not ? but omg i will have 5g
Reggie Jackson - he was no sleeper for sure cafe´s pick him around 120´s he might be 6th man but he only put numbers when he got +33mpg and this will not happpend since he only might get 22-25mpg and thats a 10mpg bump
Jared Sullinger - I think he is boston best rebounder + he helps in all defensive cats with low to. since everybody is masturbating with kelly I thought jared might fall or theman might pick him
Brandon Rush - I thought he might fall the question in my mind was will jazz pick him @170? otherwise i thought i might get him @ earlly 203 or 205
Carl Landry - landry sign a new contract but he only hels in 4 cats since Lpandry could ut up 15/8 with .500/.800 but no stl no blk no ast ...

decided to crossfringers and bet that someone will slide

when jazz pick sully @170 i was fk me
I try to get him but no help
daam hope landry falls
booom 1 pick before me he goes out
:(
what to do ?!?!?
I saw that jazz was bitching cause jarred got arrested ( cmon lawson also was .... btw i have one announcement to make the team previous knowed as portuguese bastards will be renamed as Arrested Bastards )
thx god he had that problem
cause I read all " Please critique my analysis " and knew that jazz like him
I couldnt had 6g cmon 2 bench spots no way
btw I do not think its a biggggg problem since the bail was set at 5,000$ lol
and he is innocent until proven guilty

with the 203+205+210 I wanted to pick F with mutiple eligibility sg/sf; sf/pf; Pf/c that would help me in 3pts rebs stls without hurting my %´s
tyshum prince
battier
josh mcRoberts

now have 1 more spot and i have one idea who to pick
pretty happy why my team
lets see what happend

I saw the word "masturbating" somewhere in there. Decided not to read the whole thing. :D

I had Sessions and Beverley as the two better PG's remaining. I am guessing Sly picked Joseph because he's Canadian.

I like the Sessions and Beverly picks. Both of those guys will outplay their draft position by at least 20 picks. Sessions always flies under the radar, though last year's injury worried me a little. Beverly was stellar in place of Lin last year, and I think he'll either work Lin out of a starting job, or play his way into a timeshare. My other target at 193 was Beverly, but I had too many guards already, so I had to pass. I considered drafting him anyway and then trading him high for a forward/center, but decided to pass on that hassle.

I also thought about Beverley with my pick at 191 but decided that Ridnour was a much safer choice. Beverley did surprise a lot of people when he got unlimited playing time after the injury of Lin, but I don't think he is skilled enough to steal a ton of minutes in longer haul. Especially if Lin gets it together with the arrival of Dwight. Of course, not a bad pick in 200s.

Sessions is also good value here, though I think he will no longer get to shoot the ball every time he touches it with the arrival of Al Jefferson and Cody Zeller, as well as the development of Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson.

Reggie Jackson and Patrick Beverley were my sleeper pg's. Beverley winning the starting job is still a long shot nevertheless he was 163rd ranked player in his rookie year on 17 mpg so even if replicates that, he would outplay his draft position by 50 picks. And IMO he is gonna get more around 22-24 mpg range and can play with Lin (at 6'3'' / 200 punds, Lin can defend sg's for short spurts) as well so he should be getting most of the back-up minutes at both guard spots.

I expected Sessions to go a bit earlier, sure Charlotte added some much needed firepower to the frontcourt but their backcourt remains the same and Sessions is someone who always manages to carve out a nice role in wherever he plays. Him shooting less is actually a good thing, I dont want him to drag my fg% down.

I like the Speights pick. I considered trading up for him, but decided to press my luck and see who falls the rest of the way.

Here's my thoughts on Sessions. Yes he's pretty solid for this range, but he doesn't provide help in many CATS. I sort of have him ranked as a FT% specialist...which most PGs already are, which only makes him valuable if you decided to tank the other PG stats and have a roster-able spot for him . Then again, how many teams are built to have no PG stats but be strong in FT%? He's a fantasy anomaly to me. He's pretty consistent with a few stats, but I'm not sure how helpful those stats typically are to the teams that need him as a 3rd PG.

apologies for not meeting my own deadline. i'm working pretty much every waking hour at the moment, and i couldn't even draft from memory cuz you sharks snarfed my targets. i have no idea if alonzo gee is a decent pick. i just know earl clark sucks so i figure there is a chance.

Don't worry about Gee, fix the player pages.

BTW - i found another problem. It used to be if I was on a player page or team page there was a drop down to switch to player to player (on the same team) or team to team. That is gone. :(

Wow; harsh. We're critiquing picks in the 200-range? I actually picked him because Parker and Ginobili are old. The bench is horrible. And Joseph's game has some upside.

Earl Clark was great for the Lakers last year.
