If someone won't be returning, I'll appreciate a heads up as soon as posssible so we can look for a suitable replacement.

Can we possibly stat this in September, please? If all goes well, I will be moving on the draft start date.

I can't do the draft if it starts in September. Even starting on the 18th is a bit late for me. I'll be relocating to Italy for the Fall, and my Internet will be very intermittent most of September. As it stands, I'll probably only get my first 5-7 picks in before I have to send in a 150 player list. I was actually going to ask if we could start the draft 24 hours after the Draft Lottery (so start date August 12, instead of 18). Perhaps one extra week might be beneficial to both Woody and I?

Isn't your Italo accomodation pre-arranged? You'll most probably have internet connection instantly in that case, it's not soviet Mongolia LOL. In my case, I'll relocate to Canada without prior arrangements and most likely won't have stable connectivity until the first week of September. Besides the first round of the draft is much more straightforward, you can manage relatively better if we start in September.

Pre-arranged, yes. But I'll be in a small town where I have been told Internet access will be iffy at best. I'm sure anywhere you're moving to in Canada will have ample Internet access. If we move the draft til September, I'll probably have to be out this year...and frankly, I'd prefer to continue playing in the league.

Ill go for another failed attempt at trying to win.

I don't know what the draft date is, but I can't make it.
And whenever it gets moved too, that dates no good either.

Unless the majority of the league votes for a change, the draft dates will stay the same. They are set according to how we did it in the past.

For what it's worth, the previous commish set those dates kind of arbitrarily, so you know.

And yeah, not to side with Francisco but Italy is not a third world country. Its internet infrastructure is at least comparable to the U.S.

I won't be around July 19-28, but any other team is good.

The dates for the draft actually weren't set arbitrarily. We've been going by those general dates for the last several years, and I think Gokce keeping the same dates is good form to keep up consistency, especially for those who have checked out at this point. We're in the Summer doldrums, and frankly, I don't think we have more than 5 people paying attention to this conversation, and if we change the date now, it may cause confusion.

That's a long way of saying, I think the dates Gokce has set are fine. I'll have to make it work in Italy. Though I appreciate the sentiment from Woody and Fran, in the little town I will be living in, I will have very limited Internet access...this is something that I have already confirmed with the program I'll be teaching at.

If all else fails, I'll just send a very long list to Blake and Gokce before I leave on Sept. 8.

You could see if you can find a proctor to draft according to some guidelines. Besides you tend to do most of your damage, er work, post draft with trades and pre-season add/drops. :D

HA! which is why my minimal Internet access this year is going to lead to the best season I've ever had. 8-)

From Italy? With a 9 hour time difference, that's going to make for some fun call times. 8-)
