NYC Live Draft- Need 8.

We get into fantasy sports for many reasons- some have to do with narcisism, others bare extreme love for that particular sport, but most of all, it's to have a great time, and hopefully best your competition in the process.. And as much fun as I have had in the 13 years participating, I feel there is one element of enjoyment that has eluded me; the live draft. When I look around fantasy basketball forums, it's a pretty barron wasteland, not sure why because this is the best game ever played, but such is fact. Even those that love this game would rather do fantasy football with John and Meg from accounting, just because everyone else is doing it. To me, that's a damn shame. My goal is to create a solid, 12 team, 9 (cat), money (league safe) league with a live snake draft for those who live in NYC-obvilously if you live in Long Island or New Jersey and can make it, that is fine.-

No crazy rules, or fancy bells and whistles. Just a straight forward environment, where seasoned, local and devout fantasy basketball competitors will have it out... And there will be beer, food, and smoke! We will be using a laptop to add the picks to the teams, but you can bring your own if you want to. Also, feel free to bring any notes you have on players. This is not a league for the unexperienced or for those who want to take a stab at a new format. Please only reply to this post if you have been playing h2h cat leagues a while and have fared well.

Here are the settings:

12 Teams. No divisions, top 8 make it to the playoffs.

Scoring- 9 Cat. Standard 8, with double doubles. Each week you play against an owner for the best record across the cats. Standings tally upon wins and losses in categories, not just for a singular matchup.

Waiver Acqusitions- Waiver Wire- 4 pick-ups per seven day match-up.

Rosters- 13 Spots- 1 C/ 1 PG/ 1 /SG/ 1 SF/ 1 PF/ 1 G/ 1 F/ 3 U / 3 Bench/ 2 IR. Daily roster settings.

Entry Fee & Payout- $85 League safe. Every dollar is paid out to the top 3 teams in percentages of 60/30/10. $75 for the league, $10 for the championship belt.. Oh yeah, there will be an awesome belt.

Draft- Live Draft. Date TBD/ Location TBD- $25 for food and drinks will be required to cater the event. A small price to pay for what will be a memorable and fun riddled event.

Draft Order- Randomly generated via fftoolbox.com a month before the draft.

Trading- 1 Day process- 7 votes are needed to veto- If you have interest in a player from another team, please elect to negotiate rather than just sending a cold, one sided deal. It helps limit grudges that hold the trading situation hostage. Start with an email informing the other owner you have interest.

The league has 8 spots open. So, if you live in NYC or the sorrounding area, love the game of basketball, tired of crushing your leagues or being involved in those that suck but that is all you can find, give this post a reply. I have been running leagues for over 8 years, and I am positive this has the makings of one that could go on for many seasons to come.
