Especially if Wade goes for the price he's set at right now...he hasn't had a productive season in 2 years, and looks like he's following TMac's career path, rather than Jordan's.

Not to mention, even when he was getting help from the refs, I mean, playing well--his 0s and high TOs still make it difficult to reason paying almost 1/3 of your salary for him.

So Dunleavy, Marvin Williams, Brandan Wright and Sam Cassell are also up for bid?

thoughts on my ben wallace and peja pickups? i didn't really want ben (seems no one else wanted him either since there were no 2nd round bids for him either), so i guess i overpaid for him. i also had the high bid on peja in the 1st round, but happily will pay about a thousand for his services.

Honest opinion? I thought Ben was a bit high. I considered bidding $20 on Big Ben, but didn't want to waste a roster space on someone who only gets blocks, and hardly does that well anymore.

Peja is a better deal at $1K, though he's on the down side of his career, his %s and 3s should be valuable enough for that price, though I think you could have gotten him cheaper...you know, at a thrift store or something.

So, in both cases, the bids might have been high, but at least you didn't pay 800 on a guy who we're all still waiting on to breakout  , or worse, over 3K for a guy who hasn't had a productive year since 2006, and is a liability for 3pointers and TOs.

Naturally, I think Tyrus for $800 is a better deal than Big Ben at $500

Big Ben has never been able to score, his rebounding numbers has dwindled as he loses his athleticism, the blocks and steals aren't there in high(er) volumes like they were before. He has no impression on the percentages and he will go through games getting into foul trouble and doing nothing.
My prediction is something like 4 PTS | 7 REB | 1.5 AST | 1.0 ST | 1.5 BLK

Tyrus on the other hand will get a few more minutes. I've never seen him as being capable of being a 20ppg scorer, heck, even 15ppg based on sheer athleticism and no jumper. However, apparently he has been working on it over the off-season, and he's going to see more than spare minutes for probably the first time in his career.
My prediction was something like 12 PTS | 7 REB | 2.5 AST | 1.0 ST | 1.0 BLK
but that figure had too many assists and probably not enough of the defensive stats which he is definitely capable of.

Peja for $1000 is a nice deal. It will of course seem bad when managers are able to get stars at a great discount. But considering the cap allocates $1000 per player, Peja is easily above 'average' in a 9-cat league. Only problem are his injuries.

With Wade, you can expect a renaissance, except as Brian mentionned, those 3PTM and TO deficiencies show up rather badly. That, and they are targetting floppers next season.

Not really you just spent 3k on an injury prone player. If he makes it 70 games and is it top form he may be worth it . But you also have to see how the prices hold throught the draft.

yeah, i'll go ahead and admit my first round bid of $500 on ben was a mistake. hopefully he'll benefit from a full season in cleveland. and i agree, peja for 1k will look bad when we see a top 40 guy go for that but someones gotta get **** rolling.

i think it's probable he'll play 70 games and be a statistical monster. have you seen him this summer? he looks insane. anyway im OK w overpaying bc, like i said, im a fanboy :-D and 3,313 is my lucky number so yer all doomed
