2009 Rookie/Free Agent Draft
Notes:
The 2009 FFDL Draft Lottery was conducted on Saturday, 23 May by RealGM Fantasy Basketball moderator nostradamus2005.
The actual draft will start in late August.
RULE - The 2009 draft will be only two rounds, as many of you will now. This is also mainly because we've had many a pick forfeit in recent times in the late rounds.
RULE - The draft does NOT snake.
RULE - The champion, as always, will have the last pick of each round. As Stanford was both the regular-season winner and the overall winner, we have no debate here.
RULE - 2012 picks now available for trade
RULE - Those who finish 2nd to 6th will only receive 1 ball. Those who finish 7th to 9th will receive 3 balls. Those who finish 10th to 12th will receive 5 balls. Those who finish 13th and 14th will receive 8 lottery balls.
Picks
Everyone owns their own 1st and 2nd, EXCEPT for:
- tkunit's 1st belongs to YS
- tkunit's 2nd also belongs to YS
- theman's 1st belongs to Stanford
- WB's 1st also belongs to Stanford
- Stanford's 2nd belongs to WB
Lottery
The 2009 FFDL Draft Lottery was conducted on Saturday, 23 May by RealGM Fantasy Basketball moderator nostradamus2005.
Pre-draft, the number of lottery balls per manager was as follows:
YS x 16
Stan x 6
sly x 5
Skai x 5
Setterlund x 3
insfo x 3
east x 3
bww x 1
AlciG x 1
Kohanz x 1
hamncheese x 1
The lottery results are summarized in the following post.

17. Young_Star11 - Jordan Hill
18. Setterlund - Tyler Hansbrough
19. theman - Roy Hibbert

21. Skai - Gerald Henderson
22. writersblock - Jeff Teague
23. insfo - pick forfeited
24. Kohanz - pick forfeited
25. bww78 - Julian Wright
26. AlciG - pick forfeited
27. hamncheese - pick forfeited
28. writersblock (from Stanford) - Antonio McDyess
NEW RULE - The Ricky Rubio Rule will be invoked, starting from this season...that player will have to miss 5 games before being transferred to your IL. At the end of the season, you must make a decision (eh, theman) to either keep him in your 15-man roster heading into next season, or drop him to the FA pool.
Remember, if you draft a player, you must create roster space to accommodate them; no-one will have a roster larger than 15 at any time...so when you make a pick, please either tell me who you will drop, or that you have made a trade. I understand this might not be as easy to do, so everyone will get 24 hours to make room on their roster for draft pick(s).
CLARIFICATION - When a manager drafts a player and drops another, the guy just dropped can be drafted by another manager, though the second manager would also have the roster space to accommodate them.
CLARIFICATION - The current rosters are on the first page of this thread, so that will be your point of reference.
All picks in this thread!

Jordan, I didn't trade my first rounder for this year. The last two years, yes, but not this year.

Jordan, I also didn't trade my 2nd rounder either. I only trade 1st rounders since they're really the only valuable things to trade. The 2nd rounder is still mine.

http://www.rotofreak.com/ffdl/stanfordstandout.htmlI do have Bdubs pick next year apparently. However, I think it was me who questioned whether or not I had Blake's '09 pick. Looking back, I got a combined three first round picks in the Paul and Dirk deals - '07, '08 and '10 - so you can probably go ahead and give him his pick this year.

Alright, I was thinking Coady had your pick Blake, but since he says he doesn't, I'll re-instate your pick.
Brian, again, no proof yet, but I'll most likely re-instate your second-rounder.

As long as things stay true to form...once the regular season has ended, we can make moves, announce trades, etc.
