Roger...
End of an era for real now I think. I use to think 20 slams was possible for Fed, but now with the way he's playing, I think he'll be lucky to win even one or two more. I know everyone goes on the decline at some point in their career in sports, but watching Fed decline hits me especially hard after seeing him playing unbeatable Godlike tennis for so many years.

He was only unbeatable until Nadal entered the scene.

Darn. Li Na was great the first set and then she fell apart.
Still a great accomplishment for Li to make it to the finals, but bummed that this might've been her best chance ever at winning a grand slam major and the first Asian to do so. I'm thinking she likely won't get this close ever again.

From the 1961 film "The Hustler":
Bert Gordon: I don't think there's a pool player alive shoots better pool than I saw you shoot the other night at Ames. You got talent.
Fast Eddie: So I got talent. So what beat me?
Bert Gordon: Character.
My takeaway: Clijsters was the one with talent but no "character" when she was younger. Couldn't withstand the barrage of pressure on the biggest stage, and so choked. I love that after having a kid and growing up a bit she's been able to become about as clutch as you can get. Anyone who has ever choked away something important to them, should take heart in her growth.

Scots are born losers I guess.
Seriously though, Murray only competed in the first set and then it was a slaughter in the 2nd and 3rd. Andy simply bent over and let Novak have his way with him. Quite sad to see.
