Tiger obviously is the controversial pick. He looked good last weekend though they will be hoping he continues his decent form.

Is this really a huge international event? Never seemed that big to me in the US.

I'll be rooting for Tiger just like I always have. He did pretty well last week, so maybe it's a sign of good things to come. Maybe he likes Aussie courses?

It wouldn't be ahead of any of the majors for mine but from all reports the players would give their left nut to play.

It certainly a huge international event in terms of Golf. Do you watch or follow golf? If so, I'm not sure how you could not consider it to be a huge event on the calendar. Every USPGA event this year has had a fairly in-depth analysis of the make up of teams, captains and participants. Perhaps it is less of a big deal than the Ryder cup (due mainly to the quality of competition) but it is still a pretty big deal in a sport that is (currently) void of any rivalries &/or team competition.

I used to follow closely up to about three or four years ago. It's definitely big, but it never got a great deal of coverage in the US. Certainly not enough to warrant being called a huge international sporting event. Then again, in America it's: football, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, football, then everything else in terms of media coverage. Golf doesn't get a great amount of attention, and when Tiger's not playing or in the news, it's almost ignored.

My mates Dad put a bet on the start of the year that Tiger Woods wouldnt win a tournament. Im pretty sure he has won like 14 grand now, unless presidents cup counts.

Woods/Stricker just lost 7&6 to Choi/Scott. Equal biggest loss ever in President's Cup history.

Easy to say now but I thought when they announced it they were going super hard with Choi and Scott together. Probably didn't need that strong a pairing. The Woods name forced it unnessecarily..
