You know people ain't kidding when they say women's tennis is a joke.

I mean I've watched alot of grandslam tennis over the years and its an absolute RARITY to have a good women's match where both players are playing at or near their best and making it a great match for fans to watch.

Just a short while ago I turned off the Stouser/Zheng match because it looked like Stouser was going to win easy after the 2nd set and just now I turned it on again to find that she completely choked at the end of the 3rd and LOST?!?!!?

I still watch the women's matches because its part of the grandslam, but you'd be lucky to get even one or two really good matches from the women the ENTIRE tournament while the men even in the early rounds can give you dramatic, riveting matches to watch let alone really great quarters, semis and finals matches alot of the time. Women's matches on the other hand ard just plain brutal to watch most of the time. :(

The men's side is going to be a lot of fun pretty soon, some good potential matchups. Venus vs. Sharapova could be a good one tonight.

Can't have a tennis topic on the Bucks board. Must talk about tennis here in a thread that has 5 posts in it after 5 days of AO tennis.

Sorry, I'll never stop being bitter.

This.

I'm sorry but if any mods are around this thread can we revisit this issue? We used to have at least 10-15 pages of good tennis discussion on the Bucks board during each of the Grand Slam tourneys. A 10 second visit to the Knicks board shows that they can have threads about the Assault Rifle Ban and Anime but we can't discuss tennis?

I encourage you to PM MD and PP about it, because I'm probably the only one that's ever bitched to them directly. They're hypocritical - we can talk about TV, movies, music, video games even though there are boards for all of those things. I proposed a general OT sports thread - ONE thread - and got shot down. Maybe if there are more voices they'll listen.

So if you're bitter enough, I encourage you to do that.

Ok. Joker and Wawrika match is simply ONE OF THE BEST MATCHES I HAVE EVER WITNESSED ALL TIME!! :o :o :o :o :o

Just incredible tennis and I can't believe even after 5+ hours the amount of INSANE SHOTS both of them were making!! Seriously the quality of tennis was just OFF THE CHARTS from both of them. :)

Both of them seriously deserved to win it and congrats to Joker for winning but Stan looked pretty sad walking off the court afterwards. :(

Stan played the match of this life, but he will be thinking about that 2nd set for awhile. Served for it at 5-3 and had 30-love. Hell of a match though, anybody else and I would say it might ruin their shot at winning the title but Djokovic is a freak.

I turned my tv off just after the 2nd set. I thought for sure Stan had cost himself any chance of winning this one. Heh how wrong was I. Pity I had to get some sleep.

The Fed still plays the most beautiful tennis in the history of the world.

He's got a better shot to win this now than he did when the tournament started imo.

I usually loathe women's tennis but I am very interested in this Sloane Stephens/Serena Williams clash.
