Interesting article on 538 where they aim to quantify the impact on major championships of one player on another.

They estimate that Rafa cost Federer about 4 majors for example.
This is a good thing to see as I always find people have trouble separating out this type of context: People are prone to say things like "They have the same number of Grand Slams, but X spent more time at #1" rather than "They have the same number of Grand Slams, but Y did it while playing against tougher competition".
