Paulino has been dominating the 400, won the gold at the olympics, etc, but Nassir had beaten her once this year. Sydney McLaughlin Levrone obviously had the 400 meter hurdles world record at the olympics and has broken her own world record multiple times, bringing the time down significantly, but hadn't focused on the 400. She decided this year to focus on the 400. Sydney has only lost the 400M flat twice, quite some times ago, to each of Paulino and Nassir. This race produced the 2nd and 3rd best times in history as well as the world championship record and 3 national records.

Sydney is probably the most underrated American athlete right now, truly world class and one of the best to ever do it.

Well she is the best athlete in the world at her given specialty or as basketball player's would say, "craft". She has broken her own world record six times, and now the record is so much faster than it was for decades in the 400 M hurdles.

No one dominates any particular sport more than she does. So in my mind and I'm sure many, I don't see how she can be underrated, unless you mean that maybe a lot of general sports fans who don't follow track and field don't know her.

Yeah I meant more so about that, she hasn't fully garnered that name recognition wide enough yet which is unfortunate because she is truly a special athlete.
