Only two weeks until Wimbledon 2009!
http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/index.htmlThe big story right now is the health of Rafael Nadal and whether he will be able to play. Let's all hope that he is able to play and that he is able to play at his usual elite level. Nadal will announce in the next couple of days what his plans are.
http://www.wimbledon.org/tennisnews/art ... 9615A.html I always like to provide an update on the Canadians - Aleksandra Wozniak (women) and Frank Dancevic (men) will be in the main draw, while several others will likely attempt to qualify. Wozniak should be seeded, coming off a strong 4th round result at in Paris.

I hope he plays and I hope Djokovic has a good tourney too, He's slowly been fading back into the middle of the pack after reaching elite status last season.

i think that federer has the confidence on his side and nadal has more doubts than anything else. it would be shame to see him plagued by injuries, federer-nadal has been a great rivalry and i'm pretty sure roger has revenge on his mind.

I'd really like to see Nadal at 100% in this tourney. Another Federer-Nadal Wimbledon final would be awesome.

Nadal has officially withdrawn from 2009 Wimbledon. They're not going to reseed. I think the way it works is that the #5 seed (Del Potro) will take Nadal's place in the top half of the draw.

This is Murray's tournament. He's the only one who has a real chance against Roger.

I wouldn't mind if Murray won as it would be great for the UK to finally get a Wimbledon win, but I'm really cheering for Roger to win so that he can finally get past Sampras.

Also of all the tournaments, Wimbledon is definitely 100% the best of all the grandslams. The Brits really love their tennis as even in the 1st round, you see the stands pretty well filled up with fans while in pretty much every other grandslam its quite empty. Especially at the US and French even after the first week you rarely see any packed arenas.

Or maybe there are many more fans that travel to see Wimbledon than other tournaments? Either way, the atmosphere at Wimbly is definitely the best with Aussie and US Open 2nd and French last.

Blake got knocked out pretty early and Safin made a sad exit too.

Damn Maria!

She looked really bad out there. Hope she can find her serve and her game in general again someday because its total crap right now.

Maria...

I wouldn't worry about Maria. She's played a lot of tennis in a short time since returning from the injury. She'll be fine, and a serious threat at the U.S. Open.

Not much doing on the men's side so far. Federer is coasting, but I wouldn't mind if he gets one somewhat difficult match to keep him honest before things get tougher later on.
And all the Canadians lost in the first round.

Oh well, at least there were Canadians in the tournament - that's an improvement from not that long ago.

Well.. there goes my motivation to watch Women's tennis.

By the way I assume Ivanovic, Dementieva and Hantuchova are still around!

Maria Kirilenko, Alona Bondarenko, and Vera Zvonareva are nice eye candy, but Kirlenko was eliminated in the 1st, Bondarenko in the 2nd, and Zvonareva withdrew in the 3rd.

Just finished watching the match of the tournament so far between Ferrero vs Gonzalez. Good to see Ferrero doing well at grand slams again and Gonzalez is an entertainer whenever and wherever he plays.

Damn, all top 4 women seeds made it to the semis. I wouldn't mind Serena and Venus adding another chip to the shelf, but I wouldn't mind seeing Dementieva win either.

Men's QFs are enticing.
Karlovic vs Federer may not be top draw but Hewitt vs Roddick is an old rivalry and I'm also excited to see Ferrero go against Murray. Djokovic vs Haas is another top game.

I gotta say Wimbledon coverage is MESSED UP!!
Up here in Canada there's 3 channels broadcasting matches and NONE of them are live!
NBC chooses to rebroadcast Federer/Karlovic match and ESPN for whatever reason decides to replay the Haas/Djokovic match from the beginning when it was broadcasting the match live previously. So now there's three channels broadcasting Wimbledon in HD but NOTHING IS LIVE and I'm stuck having to watch the end of Hass/Nole and Murray/Ferrer which just started all online. Damn this sucks!
