Better Career: the Djoker, Delpo or Murray?

Post#1 » by raptor21_85 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 4:05 pm

Which one of these players will have the best career? Djoko and Del Potro already have a GS.
I don't think any of them will catch Nadal nor Federer.

Of the three, I think DelPotro has the most potential to be successful.

I have to bet on Del Potro at this point. He's the youngest, he's already had the most impressive single slam performance of the three, and he's come the closest to winning on a second surface.

I definitely don't expect any of them to catch Federer. Unless Nadal surpasses him, I expect Fed's GOAT status to last a couple generations at least.

I wouldn't be on any to surpass Nadal, but...1) Injuries are a HUGE concern for Nadal, and 2) I really think there's something to him not matching up well with Del Potro.

As far as Murray or Djok, right now I'd have to go with Novak. It's tough, but at this point I see them basically equal, with Djokovic having a good head start, and with him in a good place mentally at the moment - whereas Murray might clip into some confidence issues with his failure to break through this year.

This. Right now the way the seedings go for the major tourneys, Nadal and Del Potro are most likely going to face each other in the semis. Del Potro's style is the perfect antidote to Nadal's and I see Del Potro getting in the way of Nadal's quest for future slams.

Good point but I wouldn't take Nadal's recent performance seriously. Rafa did the right thing by not claiming injuries and stealing the spotlight from Del Potro's achievement but clearly he wasn't in the physical shape he'd have liked to be.

Among the three, I'd have to rank the slam winners higher and Del Potro the youngest and most impressive, then Djoko and Murray comes last.
