Him and Roddy can be weight watchers buddies.

Hahaha. Well, I am just glad we have Wembanyama's kryptonite handy for next season.

Sixers fan here. I come in peace. Just wanted to hear from y'all what type of player that we are getting in De'Anthony Melton. From what I've heard thus far, he's an undersized guard with a long wingspan who is really good on the defensive end. He's an average to above average shooter in the regular season who has struggled in his two postseasons.

In terms of intangibles, what does he bring? I keep hearing that he provides toughness which is what we sorely need on our team but wanted confirmation from Grizzlies fans. Thanks.

He is good with upside on his shooting. That is why Grizz traded him now rather than letting him walk away in 2024.

My 2 cents:

He is a cheerful guy who always smiles. His nickname is Mr. Do Something as he makes many nice little plays and, most importantly, always makes his teammates better. His +/- is always among the top in the team, very often just the best. He struggles with creating a shot and cannot be a primary option. He is a supplemental piece, who has developed his 3pt shot from nothing to the very decent level. He is rather intuitive but very solid defender. Overall, he is about bringing positive impact on the court in every regard. Think about a light version of Maxey. They should be a deadly backcourt.

You guys will love him. Advanced stats darling. Great team defender/disruptor who can defend 1-3 well. Hits decently from deep though it can be a little spotty. He struggled in the playoffs and our Coach rarely gave him the run he deserved so I look forward to seeing Melton unleashed with you guys. He played very well during the stretch of the season he started. He can do some secondary playmaking but you don't want him as your main initiator.

LaRavia, who was among the 80-plus prospects invited to the event, took part in several on-court drills and the physical measurements on Wednesday. However, combine officials announced afterward that LaRavia withdrew from the scrimmages, which were set to begin Thursday.

He excelled in the shooting portion of the combine on Wednesday.

LaRavia, who measured in at 6 feet, 8 inches in shoes with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, led all prospects in the 3-point star drill, hitting 68% (17-of-25) of his shots. He also finished second in the shuttle run (2.89 seconds) and third in lane agility (10.58 seconds).

Last two numbers are surprisingly impressive

He has some good measurables but lacks the balance apparently to fully utilize those skills as a POA defender. Guys blew by him last year. Seems like something we can improve though.

I agree Williams is likely a two-way. I think Chandler could be the long term Tyus replacement but that Tyus still comes back. I'm interested in seeing how we look in summer league. Ziaire on ball and getting a chance to see our new guys will be fun. King K said Green's future is tbd.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Some on the Sixers board were against Morey trading #23 for him but considering that we are very much in win-now mode, it's best that we got a somewhat sure thing in Melton than a crapshoot towards the end of the first round.

BTW you guys are gonna love Green assuming he remains on your roster throughout the season. Even if he ends up not playing at all next year, he's an excellent locker room guy who will serve as a mentor for your young guys.

Appreciate it. I don't know if we will have the roster spot for him or not. Our GM said Green is "TBD" so we'll have to see how the next week or so goes.

I wonder what kind of weakness has made Vince Williams a late 2nd pick?y

PS the answer is that he is likely slow for NBA
