GAME 48: MEM vs GSW
This game could swing our momentum drastically in the short term. Win and the current losing streak is behind us and forgotten as we knock off our rivals. Lose and things could really spiral as it would be another big morale hit.

Ziaire was horrible today and we couldn't hit our FTs. Z gave up the open look to Poole for them to win the game. Our rebound was also predictably atrocious.

I was going to say - don't want to be overly negative, but Z can not be in the game in the 4th. He gives that up with 2 seconds left. That is bad in a high school game.
Don't understand the rotation where Bane is out most of the 4th after he gets a hot hand late in the 3rd. Ride his hot shooting.

Yeah you can't have Z in with how bad of a game he was having. There is still time for him to figure things out, but he hasn't been quite bad with a few flashes of good since coming back from that injury.

I didn’t understand it myself. Z made some critical mistakes in the game. When that happens, Jenkins should’ve sat him down. This is a four game losing skid now. This is now the way to walk it back. Plus the Grizzlies allowed the Warriors to linger around to where they found themselves getting the worst snakebite at the wrong time. They have two more games this month. Get it together!

Since that controversial episode from last Friday night at the Lakers. I can’t help but to wonder if the issue is still lingering in the Grizzlies psyche. I know that players can’t and should not bow down to critiques of others they may put on themselves daily. Regardless if it’s wins or losses.
This game with the Warriors was as close to the best they played since the crucial Lakers debacle at the end. Eerily similar to the circumstance of loss with the Warriors. Winning this game would’ve been a great catalyst for the Grizzlies to get back into the swing of winning again.
If the Warriors continue to be the Grizzlies kryptonite, then the Grizzlies need to rethink their approach to how to overcome them the next time they meet. Because if they don’t find a way to defeat them next time. They will not just see them in the playoffs, they may reek of self defeat as they’re having trouble overcoming them.
As for the remaining months of games, the Grizzlies need to reorganize their mind set and recreate the solutions that will lead them back into winning games once again. The more they lose, the haters will out louder for their demise. As they are now the hated/annoying franchise in the NBA.

Our FO’s desire to squeeze the best from ZW’s claimed potential is understandable, but it is just too much. He has ruined too many chances. I am done with supporting him as I still see that his body moves look undeveloped, which is a red-flag as it is unlikely attributable to his age only. He is not a kid, though still moves like Thabeet. I am done. Send him to the Hustle and let LaRavia play.

To me, he is a backup masquerading as a starter for our team for some odd reason. Bring him off the bench and I wouldn't mind him as much. In crunchtime, he has no business being in the game until he takes a major leap. We are talking about winning in the playoffs and it feels like our supporting players are winging it on the fly at the moment. Sign some Euroleague role player vets and let's go win it.

ZW is meh, if not the bust. Let’s accept it and move forward keeping him on the bench and giving him a chance to develop into a rotation NBA player. Meanwhile, let’s find a starting SF on the market. We are a CONTENDER.

Yeah I think Z likely tops out as a quality bench wing. I'm definitely not out on him and think he will greatly improve from where he currently. is, but I don't see him ever being a starter if we want to truly contend.
This loss felt way better than the others to me. Our good guys played well. We were missing Adams and Z was hot garbage and we still were right there at the end. We have to hit our FTs, something that has plagued us for forever, and we need to find a way to improve our 3pt shooting but this game felt like one of the normal games you just sometimes lose. We played hard and kept our energy up unlike the piss poor effort we had at times in the other games (first two especially). Our team needs one more quality wing player if Z is going to play like this and then to be healthy and we will be ok. Maybe Green will be that but we'll see. We just need him to be a calming vet presence and give us 12-14 minutes of solid D and 3pt shooting from the corner.
