Santi Aldama Salary

Not a Grizz fan here.

How much do you figure your management will be willing to spend to keep Santi Aldama? It'll be way more than that $5.9M QO...

I think our hope is to get to sign something just north of the MLE next offseason. 14-16m range.

He's put together a pretty damn good season so far. That seems cheap...

I was going to say 15m per year too but all it takes is one team with cap space to make that number go up

Which leads to the question can the Grizzlies be able to afford Santi's next extension. They still have 3J's contract next up after the 25-26 season. Those decisions have to be thought about very carefully. Especially with the new CBA rules in play.

I don't see Marcus Smart or Luke Kennard in our future, which together are roughly 30 million in salary this year (with Kennard's 10 expiring after this season and Smart's 20 expiring after next season). Absent a significant trade (which I doubt will occur), I could see the Grizz attempting to allocate that 30 million between Santi's new contract and the increase in JJJ's salary on his next contract in an effort to avoid the luxury tax.

I can see that for sure. Kennard is about to play himself out of a contract number the Grizzlies can afford to give him. He's definitely a goner regardless of what happens this season. Smart for sure will likely be a goner in the next 36 hours. To where is the question.

That's who I believe the Grizzlies will commit to both Santi and 3J as they're next up on their respective contracts.

I do believe that the Grizzlies will do a trade involving taking back expiring contracts or get off a contract for seconds.

I am afraid that Aldama will get 25, 23, 21, 19.
