Grizzlies Financial Status

Post#1 » by SnoBrdrRob » Fri Feb 8, 2008 5:10 am

I am a Seattle fan and have read a bit lately about Memphis possibly being a relocation team. I see you guys just got a new arena a couple of years ago, but curious as to why the finances are so bad for the franchise?

0-12 playoffs

22-60 last year

13-35 this year

Bad trades
terrible owner

We actually might be the only franchise in history whose college team could probably beat our pro team.

That's just off the top of my head.

With that being said...why a mem fan would like to watch a mem game? now, my only ilussion is to watch rudy's and Conley's development, the bombs of jcn and Millers and....and...nothing else. i dont even look at the score in mem games cause it is useless. if we ever did something in the first 3quarters we are going to lose in the fourth, so...

lets wait a couple of years AGAIN and maybe, only maybe, we could win a playoff game.

Are you reading this in articles or message board postings? In all likelihood the Grizzlies won't move for at least 5-6 years. It would be far too costly to move them now.

I agree Grizzled... the first time that the Grizz could be moved for a reasonable amount is the summer of 2013. Most people don't realize how expensive it is to move a team, much less the payout the Grizz owe the city of Memphis if they move.

The Grizz just need an owner that doesn't own a run a team from 1000 miles away. Heisley likes the Bulls more than he does his OWN team!

Not a shareholder. Don't know and don't care.

Heisley likes the Bulls more than he does his OWN team!
that is patently false, and was either made out of ignorance or an unfounded sense of entitlement.

Ok... almighty one... so what is going on in Heisley's head. All you do is come on here and attack posters. IT WAS A DAMN JOKE!!! Heisley has made references before about the Bulls and he is from Chicago. It is no secret that he tried to buy the bulls before obtaining the Grizz.

you get over yourself. you're the one who presumes to know Heisley's thoughts and mind, not me.

but it's also no secret that he's a competitive person who relishes beating the Bulls so he can rub it in his friends' faces. a fact that has been written about in the CA. there wasn't anything about "Heisley likes the Bulls more than his own team!!!!" that even looked suggested it was a joke, especially given the anti-Heisley sentiment of some fans.
