Pau healed! Vatican deems it a miracle

Post#1 » by Double Dribble » Wed Feb 6, 2008 5:47 pm

In what can only be described as a miracle, Pau Gasol put the Lakers on his back when superstar teammate Kobe Bryant left the game with an injured finger. Gasol "took over midway through the fourth quarter and made key plays on five of six offensive possessions to key the decisive run." Gasol showed no signs of being bothered by his ankle, foot, or back. When questioned after the game about how he felt, Gasol responded, "I was pain free. It's a miracle."

The Vatican apparently agrees, sending a host of experts to the states to bear witness. To even be considered, a potentially miraculous cure must be instantaneous or sudden, complete and permanent, and without apparent scientific explanation. All of those conditions seem to be present. As of yet, the miracle hasn't been attributed to anyone, such as Mother Theresa or the late Pope John Paul II. A source from the Vatican, speaking on condition of anonymity, cast doubt on Mother Theresa's involvement.

"She wasn't particularly fond of Spain. She was big fan of the Young Cagers, so it's unlikely she would've interceded on Gasol's behalf. Besides, Spain's fans have already anointed Gasol as saint and savior. I doubt someone of that status would need outside help. But that's Rome's call."

Gasol's play brought to mind the "c" word. When asked about it, the Vatican source laughed and said, "Pau's healing won't be tough to prove. His play last night could have been divinely inspired, but for him to be clutch, well that would truly be a miracle."

1- gasol did not play against the wizards because of his back. he played against the nets because it felt good enough. no miracle at all there.

2- the fact he played well for l.a. in the 4th only shows, again, memphis fans see what they want to see, and they

There's a man I've found could bring us all joy!
There's a doctor I've found could cure the boy!
There's a doctor I've found could cure the boy!

There's a man I've found could remove his sorrow,
He lives in this town let's see him tomorrow,
Let's see him tomorrow!

Are you serious?? This is Gasol just being Gasol. He wants to post when he face teams with no low post threat. When there is no one close to his height or physical, he wants to act like he is assertive. Just wait till he shows his usual colors when he faces legit bigs like duncan, amare, tyson chandler, boozer, etc. He is not an elite player or all star because he can't compete against the other guys who the league considers good. Why do you think he dominated in the Warriors game??? Cuz their front court sucks. Why did he suck so much against the hornets?? Cuz he doesn't like playing physical against other 7 footers. Its that simple really. And when its a blow out, and the starters are out he racks up the numbers.

Validated last night against Al Horford.

Gasol with 30 points on 12-15 shooting against Dwight Howard and the Magic. He blew by Howard a couple of times from the post and knocked down some Mid-Range jumpers on him also.

I'm hoping Gasol goes 40 points against Shaq.

Anyway, we all know Pau. He'll have strong outings and then score 14 points and get 5 rebounds the game after that.

The question is that in LA he'll have easier having big games than in Memphis. Because of his new and better team mates and because of the so-called "star-calls".

His game against Howard was so good partially because Howard got intro early foul trouble. He was called a charge against Pau, which I think it was a charge but in Memphis would have been a deffensive foul and in the next play he barely touched Pau and got another foul.

I think Pau and Lakers are a match made in heaven, and hope our Grizzlies can get better with the young core they'll have next year.

Well, actually he looks even better.

The Lakers have offensive sets different from "get the ball to Pau in the low post and let's see what happens" or "get the ball to Rudy anywhere and let's see if he can do something with it". Sometimes Pau will get the ball and sometimes he won't, but always within the flow of the game.

If you are playing against the Lakers, what do you do? Double team Pau? Pau is a solid passer, and he has Fisher, Odom and Kobe out there. If you don't double team him, he'll make you pay.

It's not that Pau is so much better now, or that he's playing harder, it's that everything around him is easier and better.

You can notice that in the defensive end. He still has no big body besides him, until Bynum returns, and is struggling the same way he used to do in Memphis.

However, when Bynum comes back, I'm pretty sure Pau will send Wallace a Ferrari or something like that, just to say 'thank you'.
