could this mean that things inside the organization aren't as bad as originally though since a player who's best friend was traded wants to stay here?

JCN doesnt know other places to compare, so he thinks that team is ok for him. in fact, i think it too. if we land beasley, he could have minutes at SG. Javaris is going to be fighting with him per minutes, and...i dont think miller will continue in this team next summer.

To sum up, i think navarro wants to stay here because he has time of playing. hed rather play mn than wins.

No they are pretty bad but Navarro is a restricted free agent who would like to get paid in the off season. Memphis happens to have plenty of cap space unlike a majority of teams that could use his services so his salary would be a lot less. I think he is still on the hook with FC Barcelona for 3 million as apart of his buyout agreement.

He will wait until after his contract to start complaining for a possible trade. Then again, it could be true, he might want to stay to finish where he started. Maybe his best friend should take a page from his book and enjoy the game and be happy that he has a chance to play the great game of basketball.

Upping his value--- good guy who likes a bad team brings you a good rep.

I like what I know of the guy and I like his play.
I think he was very courageous to pay for his buyout in Spain and leave potential millions in a contract in Europe to take on the NBA, when he didn't know the language or the playing style in North America --- especially bringing his wife and young daughters as well.
I really wish him well, and hope it all works out very well for him, and for his family.

No. He's a restricted free agent sucking up to the guys who will sign his bigger (he hopes) checks.

Didn't he take less money to come here and play?

Yes, he took a cut in pay from his Spanish club in hopes of a long term bigger payday in the NBA.

my gut is that either 2 things will happen during the summer regarding Navarro....

1.) we re-sign navarro to a reasonable contract no longer than 3 years and NOT for the full MLE...

2) a repeat of the sasha pavolic saga happens with us threatening to match any offer he gets, but won't give him an offer he wants and a holdout occurs till someone breaks....

As long as the offer isn't too steep. The Grizz should be able to sign JCN to a reasonable deal.

I'm almost on the borderline of wanting to sign Josh Childress for the guard/forward rotation and sign and trade Navarro for some PF/C depth.

I was just talking to Zack this AM about how I think we should start to think of Navarro in terms of "what can we get for him". I personally think he could only net us an 8th-9th player-from whom I've no idea and all circumstances will change with the playoffs, lottery, and draft. I really like Navarro....but I just don't know (no one does, I don't suppose, as yet) if he'll be around next year.

What are the opinions of how much Josh "I have the coolest hair in North America" Childress will cost? The Grizz would almost certainly have to overpay for him if it's perceived that a better team could get him for MLE money...

If JCN doesn't regain his shot by the time the season ends. His career in the NBA may turn out to be a short stint.
