If u get the 3rd pick

Post#1 » by Sebzor » Tue Mar 4, 2008 12:42 pm

Lets say this happens
MIAMI => 1st
SEATTLE => 2nd
MEMPHIS => 3rd
MINNESOTA => 4th
CHARLOTTE => 5th

AND Miami select D. Rose with the 1st pick
SEA-MEM trade:
K. Lowry/J. Collins/3rd pick
-for: L. Ridnour/2nd pick

SEA keep rebuilding and get the PG for the future + nice player with 3rd around Durant & Green
MEM get the 2nd pick: Beasley to pair up with Conley/Crittenton/Gay/Warrick

If it's to land Beasley - sure.

I like this better trade:

Lowry, MM, to MIA for their #1, Banks and Parker

trade Conley and Lakers #1 this year to SEA the #2

Draft
1 Beasley
2 Rose
3 Mayo

New Lineup

Rose, Crittendon, Banks
Mayo, JCN
Gay, Warrick
Beasley, K. Brown
Millic, Collins Fill in the roster with Mid Level Bench Players

MIA does not have a first round pick this draft.

MIA does have a #1. It is lotto protected, meaning they must draft it prior to trading it.

Suppose the lottery went:

1. MIA -- Beasley
2. MIN -- Derrick Rose

(talent gap)

3-4. MEM ..???

MIA decides to keep Beasley, and MIN asks what you'd offer for Rose. I understand he's a bad position fit as yet another talented young PG on your team, but as you've seen up close, he's got superstar potential, and I assume he'd be a great marketing boon if he stayed home.

I can't imagine MIN would have interest in Mike Miller, but does MEM have interest in trading up for Rose?

No way we trade up for Rose. He is not a position of need. I seriously doubt we would draft him at all unless it was to move him to someone else in a trade.
