Right now, it seems that everything the Grizzlies have done to this point is just down right disasterous. I know we're in the rebuilding process and junk. It's just that they seem hellbent on making more backwards moves than taking better steps forward. With this move by Heisley today, I don't even think he knows what he wants to play this out. Just too much confusion.

i'm sure many glossed over that little nugget.
Wasn't glossed over at all MH. Vernon covered the fact that there was a call for payment of debt and local ownership opted to allow their interest in the franchise to cede instead.
What rankles me is that it appears that Heisley turned down an offer from the local group that was lower than the offer that was accepted from the Laetner/Davis fiascoship.
I stand by my statement - Heisley's the devil.

didn't i read that the NBA initiated the debt collection, which triggered the lowering of their interest in the team from 30% to 5.8%......
and although I would rather the local owners own 100% of the team, I don't see anything forcing Heisley to sell anything to them, no matter the price they offer....
and clearly heisley isn't an angel sent from the basketball gods to give memphis citizens entertaining and enjoyable basketball....

I'm not either. It's a little bit of xenophobia Memphis-style. "look at the big bad Yankee man with money, come down here to do us wrong". It seems as though the relationship between Heisley/Meadows and the local group was destined to end (or come close to ending) poorly.
