Hello grizzs fan.
As we all know, the season is about to finnish for us. I think we all had a little hope before the draftt lottery to have a season longer by playoffs but we got the #4 seed... Its not time to complain of what could have happened if we have had Oden with the #1...But As time went by, we were having a lot of heartbreaks losses. the first months we lost a lot of close-games. So the dream of playoffs ended. We had a great core with rudy-pau, we land Darko to spot him at C, new staff in the bench, Conley, etc.... and with some good Defense we had our chances to dream about playoffs. But it all went bad.
Now i want to know what you think about that season. The positive things. The things that have made this team to get better. Wich steps of the rebuilding worked!
I guess the best thing that happened this year is that rudy has one more experience year. anything else? Maybe that we landed javaris...maybe warrick develope some good games since gasol trade.
Im dissapointed with darko. I expected more from Iavaroni. Conley...lot of injuries. We fire Kinsey (i liked him). Stro had to leave. Jacobsen shouldnt be in the town. Damon took a lot of games when conley was healty yet.
Nothing really to say about miller, Jcn or lowry. The just played their roles.
thoughts about the season? good and bad!
End of the season!
End of the season!

Well first I would like to say to those board members like yourself who are not only based outside of Memphis but outside the country. It is so admirable that you not only kept the faith and were loyal but stayed involved when a lot of us, out of frustration just bailed on the season.
We know it is not easy keeping up with the team and I along with the rest of us really appreciate the dedication to the Grizz. While we are not Real Madrid or Man Utd, maybe the Memphis Grizz will be an international brand that started from humble beginnings.
There is an article in the C.A. (local paper) were coach Iavaroni, Rudy Gay, and Mike Miller are talking about the type of player we need to be succesful. I don't know if it is just me but the player they are describing seems like Ron Artest. Did anyone else get that feeling?
Most mock drafts have the Grizz potentially picking Brook Lopez of Stanford, but the organization seems like they want to sign Marc Gasol before he resigns in Europe with a heavy buyout and pencil him in as the starting Center. The comments in the article referrenced this and Chris Wallace's comments on his most recent Eurpoean trip were he met personally with the Gasol family, who still maintain a residence in the Memphis area. Hence if they were able to sign Marc Gasol it is unlikely they go the Brooks Lopez route.
If they don't go after Artest who may opt out then Mikeal Pietrus could also be an option or drafting Westbrook from UCLA who is suppose to be the best defender in the Draft if he declares. He could be a reach at where the Grizz would be drafting from, but he also fits the criteria.
Having said all of this it is obvious that the most interesting or best part of the season is once again the off season. Every year we have the opportunity to make strides but somehow seem to fail miserably with our choices.

Hey man, thank you for the words. Anyway, we are like 10 people in that board, really grizzlies fan. we all know each other, it makes this board better. When i take a look around other boards there are lot of fans and they dont read each other, id rather have 10post in a game thread and read them all than 350post just to say..."We need more denfense" or things like that.
I guess you all realize that english is not my stong point. i could have writte the things i said before in spanish, italian, swedish or finnish better than in english. But i guess i have to learn. english is just my 5th languaje. we are not used to use that in finland
Taking again the thread. i think the player we need is just another kind of rudy. now he is our reference, we can rebuild around him. thats what id do. Yep, it would be wonderfull to have artest, monta or biedrins. but i dont think we can have some good players from free agents. so, lets make trades in the draft day... land some young like portland, and then, in two years we will be fighting for 7th or 8th spot to play offs.
I heard someone said than in 2-4 years memphis, portland and lakers will reach the top in west....lets pray for that
, why not?

In the case of this season. It's the sequel to last season, more crap and failure. In life, sometimes we have to go through a sense of failure before we can achieve a sense of success. It just harder to watch failure continue when it's not within your reach of control to fix the issues in a more reasonable rate. With that, I will list my Top 20 things that defined the Grizzlies this season both good, bad, funny, and downright insulting. Let's get the bad news out the way first then wrap it up with some good news, if any.
Top 10 Bad News
1. ESPN's Bill Walton retracted his statement that "Memphis is just a barn now" after the Pau trade. What he meant to say was that "The Grizzlies are like a Family Dollar store. You can get some good products on the cheap"
2. MH, CW, and MI did more pointing fingers on the Pau trade than the Brady Bunch kids when one of them backup into their mailbox.
3. If this season was the sequel to last season. Fear the trilogy like the SARS.
4. NY Post reported in late March that Larry Brown could have the potential to become the Grizzlies next coach. Tell that to Darko, who according to Grizz officials, was seen crippling into the fetal position and saying the words "No, not again" repeatively in terror after hearing the report.
5. The Pau trade happened in February. It's a wonder the Grizz didn't get back a broken toilet and a broken T.V. that only got one station along with the trash they got back for Pau.
6. The only reason why Tarence Kinsey was cut from the Grizz was that Marc Iavaroni could keep the fans from calling his show up and ask why TKO never got off the bench every Thursday on his show.
7. The best thing the Grizz get back for Stromile Swift is Jason Collins? I guess things could be worse. The Grizz could've traded for Jerome James instead.
8. Getting Casey Jacobson to play defense is like hearing Rosie O'Donnell getting caught in a sex scandel with Donald Trump on the news.
9. Somebody needs to change the forum name from the "FedEx Forum" to the "FedEx Library". The place was so quiet that you can hear a rat fartin from China.
10. Who is Andre Brown?
Top 10 Good News
1. This craptacular season will be over on Wednesday night.
2. Rudy Gay has come into his own this season from the winning shot against the Spurs at home, to making his first All Star appearance in the dunking competition, and making the highlights on ESPN for his thunder dunks.
3. Anytime a woman flashes herself at a bball game draws more interest than the game itself. You know that team is really horrible on the floor. To that woman, here's a toast to you and I salute you.
4. The SoB interview with Michael Heisley was a good read during the past few days. Great job guys and keep up the good work on your blog.
5. The draft is coming soon and if the lottery goes as planned. Which player will the Grizz draft? Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley
6. Mike Conley has some potential to be something in the NBA. He does have a long way to go in terms of better his skills on the floor in terms to shooting the ball well and gaining better experience.
7. Mark Cuban tells Michael Heisley that he got bad business advice in terms of certain hirings and on the Pau trade. At least somebody had the sense to tell Heisley that straight up. Unfortunately, it was too late with those moves now been made.
8. If Simon Cowell, Gordon Ramsey, and Richard Roeper were sports critics. Imagine what they would really say about the Grizzlies.
9. No comment
10. Time to flush this season down the drain. Good news isn't it?
